Our Fixed Networks (FN) business group provides an array of “gigabit to the home” solutions to deliver data access to our communication service provider (CSP) customers. This includes Fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) as well as 5G fixed wireless access (FWA), xDSL and cable upgrades.
We build solutions that don’t stop at the home but also bring that gigabit experience into the home using our meshed Wi-Fi solution.
What you will learn and contribute to
The general purpose of this position is:
  • That you contribute to the validation of our in house developed Switch/Router application
  • That you bring our product innovations and evolutions to the market faster and at higher quality than the competition as part of a multi-disciplinary agile team of senior experts and supported by state-of-the-art development and test technologies, tools and process

Your main Responsibility Area:

  • You interpret the customer requirements and contribute to feature implementation, validation, estimation and planning.
  • Together with the team, you implement and validate the in-house developed software on target as well as using a host simulation model. You ensure that the software validation can run in an automated regression, knowledge of Python and Robot is a plus. You are accountable for the long-term quality of the software and testware delivered.
  • You Interact with program and project managers to give regular updates of identified issues

Your tasks will exist (but not be limited to) of:

  • Writing C / C++ code, (test) scripts, robot test cases that validate and automate the in-house developed software
  • Troubleshooting software on target hardware and in a host-simulation environment
  • Integration of (Nokia) products in a customer like end to end setup, to integrate and to validate the in-house developed software.
  • Using protocol and traffic simulator to validate the software in an end-to-end setup


Your skills and experience

  • Broad interest in the Telecom sector, having engineering degree or a degree in Computer Science/ Telecommunications/Electronic (or 5 years of experience)
  • Genuine interest in new technologies and read/understand/implement internet RFC’s, knowledge of L2 forwarding / L3 protocols and quality of service, basic knowledge GPON/U-NGPON technologies
  • Knowledge of real-time operating system concepts (interrupts, tasks, concurrency, …)
  • Ability to work fluently with Unix/Linux (as operating system)
  • Eagerness and agility to learn fast and be challenged on a daily basis, passion in handling complex systems and projects, keen on working in a multicultural environment, team-working skills but also ability to work independently,
