Our client, a leading Software, Information, and Communication Technologies company, with offices around the globe, is looking for a Systems Administratorto join their innovative team in Brussels, Belgium.They are a renowned supplier of IT services to government institutions, multinational corporations, public administrations, and multinational companies, research, and academic institutes.
Job Type:Contract/Consultant
Max Daily Rate: 396 EUR
Requirements
University degree in IT or relevant discipline combined with 7 years of IT professional experience
Proven experience in general Linux server system administration
Fluent in English
Tracked experience in working with a wide range of open source projects
Practical knowledge of cloud computing and containerisation
Hands-on experience in Git and other source code change tracking systems
Very good communication skills and the capability of working in a multi-lingual/multi-cultural environment
Responsibilities:
Perform common system administration tasks on Linux based server hosts, including installing new host machines and testing applications
Liaise with software development teams to encourage them to work following the principles and practices of open source
Assist with the creation of a source code development repository
Participate and support in the organisation of open-source related events such as hackathons, workshops and conferences
Support in the definition of open-source related training programmes
Help create and expand a network of OSPOs, by liaising with OSPOs and related organisations in public services
Participate in meetings with project teams and user groups
