Our client, a leading Software, Information, and Communication Technologies company, with offices around the globe, is looking for a Systems Administratorto join their innovative team in Brussels, Belgium.They are a renowned supplier of IT services to government institutions, multinational corporations, public administrations, and multinational companies, research, and academic institutes.

Requirements

Ideal candidates should have:

  • University degree in IT or relevant discipline combined with 7 years of IT professional experience


  • Proven experience in general Linux server system administration


  • Fluent in English


  • Tracked experience in working with a wide range of open source projects


  • Practical knowledge of cloud computing and containerisation


  • Hands-on experience in Git and other source code change tracking systems


  • Very good communication skills and the capability of working in a multi-lingual/multi-cultural environment


Responsibilities:


  • Perform common system administration tasks on Linux based server hosts, including installing new host machines and testing applications


  • Liaise with software development teams to encourage them to work following the principles and practices of open source


  • Assist with the creation of a source code development repository


  • Participate and support in the organisation of open-source related events such as hackathons, workshops and conferences


  • Support in the definition of open-source related training programmes


  • Help create and expand a network of OSPOs, by liaising with OSPOs and related organisations in public services


  • Participate in meetings with project teams and user groups
