Responsibilities / Tasks

GEA is looking for an enthusiastic purchaser (Technical Buyer) who will be part of the Pharma Solids Compression Supply Chain Team in Halle, Belgium and report to the Head of Procurement.

The Technical Buyer is the competent intermediary between the supplier and GEA. They represent the company both internally and externally. An energetic and diplomatic approach as well as an analytical and critical attitude are important requirements for this function.

YOUR ROLE
  • Understanding & analyzing of technical drawings.
  • Manage the buying process including sourcing planning, quotation process, negotiate contracts with specified target pricing, cost and delivery targets.
  • Improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings, utilising negotiation & procurement best practice tools and methods.
  • Eexpediting purchase orders to support fulfilment of production schedules and spare parts orders
  • Align expectations with Mechanical Engineering, Project management and support Engineering / Production Team on new ideas & new developments
  • Ensure Professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships
  • Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures
Our Requirements

Your Profile / Qualifications
  • You hold a bachelors degree in Engineering (Electro-mechanics etc.)
  • A minimum of 3 years of professional and relevant experience.
  • A team player with a passion for techno-commercial affiliation
  • Customer focus with an accurate & analytical approach.
  • High value of quality and on time delivery commitment.
  • Native in Dutch mandatory, Fluency in English
  • Compliance, Respect & Integrity are key
  • Knowledge of ERP (AS400) or SAP is an added advantage.
