Interested in being part of our team?Join us on our journey for a better tomorrow.The RoleAre you passionate about new innovations and eager to develop the future sustainable oil-free compressors?At FTO, a new Airtec product engineering team, we are looking for an energetic and motivated technology engineer to join our mission in developing the heart of our internal customer’s best-in-class compressor units. The team currently consists of six project/technology engineers and has three emerging technologies in its portfolio (oil free screw blowers, tooth and claw compressors). The team consists of multiple international profiles.In this function, your first mission will be to tackle 2 technically challenging projects on Oil Free Screw Blowers (OFSB). Afterwards you’ll join a technology development project where the project team will identify/visualize technological opportunities, develop new knowledge and elaborate the technology roadmap. You will demonstrate the added value of these technologies, implement the newly attained knowledge, report on the progress and become responsible for current and future OFSB applications.Since most of our projects are focused on energy efficiency of a high impact industry sector, you will be given the opportunity to grow on a professional and personal level while working on a better future.Your Responsibilities Will Be- You do extensive research on components or subsystems of blowers (such as bearings, rotordynamics, thermodynamics, seals...)
- You identify knowledge gaps and devise/follow-up a test plan to answer key decisions
- You ensure the smooth implementation of new concepts as part of new product development project teams
- You acquire the relevant knowledge from internal and external stakeholders e.g. supplier, customer, process and engineering departments.
- You follow up the technology evolution for oil free screw blowers
- Calculation and design of the different blower components (e.g. gears, bearings, seals, ...)
- Participation in and management of product development and technology projects
- Continuous product improvements through implementation of acquired and validated knowledge
- Close follow-up of prototype assembly and testing
- Formulation of functional hypotheses and verification by suitable tests
- Cooperation with external partners and research institutes
- Be part of the engineering team in new development project execution
- Share expertise and technology with others in the organization
- Taking on an expert role in a project team and formulating solutions. Reporting the working method, results, conclusions and recommendations.
- Assist in design review, support on key decision making and technical review
- Take lead and actively participate in continuous improvements
- Have a real impact on the end-user’s energy consumption
- Master in mechanical engineering or equivalent
- Excellent analytical skills to solve complex technical problems
- Basic Matlab knowledge
- Able to interprete FEA/CFD results
- Knowledge of compressor technology is a plus
- Experience as project member or leader in product development projects is a plus
- You are able to work in an international, intercultural environment.
- Good communication skills and English proficiency are required.
