Job content

  • Providing legal counsel and guidance to the infrastructure business unit, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and contractual obligations. You will report to senior management depending on the importance or risk profile of a specific matter.
  • Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and other legal documents pertaining to infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and risk mitigation.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments for infrastructure projects, identifying potential legal risks and providing proactive solutions to mitigate them effectively.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of regulatory developments and changes in general and in the infrastructure industry, advising stakeholders on compliance requirements and strategies.
  • Dispute Resolution: Manage and resolve legal disputes and claims related to infrastructure projects through negotiation, mediation, arbitration or litigation when necessary.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, finance, and procurement, to support the successful management and execution of infrastructure projects.
  • Policy Development: Develop and implement legal policies, procedures and best practices tailored to the specific needs and challenges of the infrastructure business unit.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on legal matters relevant to infrastructure projects, fostering a culture of compliance and risk awareness.
  • You have a Master’s degree in law.
  • You have a first experience as a company lawyer and/or in negotiating contracts.
  • You take the reality of the business into account in everything you do. You are eager to learn and have a hands-on way of working.
  • You communicate fluently (orally and in writing) in Dutch, French and English.
