As the Head of Accounting, you will be the overall responsible person for accounting & tax compliance in the NHV Group. You also work on improving key finance processes and implement new policies and procedures to make the day to day as efficient as possible, reporting to the Group CFO.

ACCOUNTING TEAM

  • You are the leader of the accounting team, based in Oostende and responsible for the A to Z accounting of 10 legal entities in 7 different countries. You will support and guide the team to assure that all tasks are completed in an accurate and timely manner, being extremely deadline oriented
  • You will organise payment processes and manage short term cash flow for these entities
  • Ensure timely registration of tax and transfer pricing declarations
  • Lead on statutory audits and ensure compliance with all local legislation
  • You will be the responsible person for monthly and yearly closing process
  • Ensure that all local statutory reporting is submitted accurately and on time, and this in close co-operation with external accountants/ advisors in different locations
  • Help the accounting team to develop themselves in their way of work and as a person
  • Supervise and guide the team by giving advice and growing opportunities

OPTIMISING OF ACCOUNTING PRINCIPLES

  • We are looking for someone to develop and implement efficiency improvement plans for local finance processes in our rapidly changing environment
  • Take initiative to get involved in set up of new legal entities, get in contact with advisors to understand local taxation and accounting principles
  • Set up a well-organised internal control environment
  • Optimise the information management systems, in particular the management of the accounting system and optimisation of the use of the system (including upgrades, improvements and reporting)

GROUP ROLE

  • Consolidation of all entities in the NHV Group
  • Development of a group accounting manual
  • Specific tax projects, tax planning and support due diligence process
  • Ensure intercompany reconciliation processes run in an efficient way
  • You work closely together with the teams in different countries to come to best possible results
  • Master or bachelor in economy or accounting
  • Minimum 8 years experience in finance and accounting in an international environment
  • Experience in international/local taxation/VAT rules
  • Hands on work ethic
  • Committed to meeting deadlines
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Good management and communication skills
  • Results orientated to get things done, work precisely and solve problems
  • Energised by improvements to processes and change management
  • ICT-literate
  • Languages: English, Dutch and knowledge of French
  • Willing to travel on ad hoc basis
