  • Executive leadership
  • Strategic advice to key stakeholders of associations
  • Consulting and business planning
  • Product development and roll-out / implementation
  • Customer service management
  • Financial management
  • Marketing & communications
  • Committee support and management
  • Community management, membership engagement and recruitment
  • Certification and accreditation management

Students are fully involved in a variety of tasks relating to the competencies mentioned above and are treated like regular employees.Several interns have become full time staff and continue to develop their careers with challenging and stimulating projects and assignments.On a day-to-day basis the role of the AM&C Intern is responsible for a combination of responsibilities such as:
  • Support executive leadership of the overall organisation
  • Organisation and coordination of virtual and in person webinars, meetings, including attendance and reporting
  • Support in the organisation of annual meetings and other events
  • General administrative tasks including oversight membership and election processes, database maintenance
  • Maintenance of database(s)
  • Assistance to Associations’ members
In collaboration with the Marketing Team
  • Content updates on website and social media channels
  • Maintenance of members only area & website maintenance
YOUR PROFILE
  • General:
    • You must be an EU citizen (or hold a valid VISA/permit for students from the UK, post Brexit requirements)
    • You are available for at least 6 months, ideally 12 months
    • You must be an undergraduate or student undertaking for example (but not limited to) business, public administration, international relations, communications, or association management related studies and require an internship as a part of your course.
  • Language skills:
    • Fluency in English is a must
    • Ideally fluency in a 2nd EU language
  • Skills:
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to persuade and negotiate
    • Empathy to work with diverse customers, staff, managers, and authorities
    • Problem-solving skills
    • Creativity and imagination
    • Aesthetic sensibility: ability to identify what is appealing for different target groups
    • Excellent presentation skills
    • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to conduct in-depth research, strong planning, and project management competencies
    • Strong inter-personal skills including cross cultural understanding
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft office applications

Compensation & Benefits
  • 700€ housing allowance per month (for international students only)
  • Public transport pass (STIB, value +/- €49.00 per month)
  • In addition to the Belgian public holidays, an entitlement to 1 day paid leave per calendar month will be granted for the duration of the agreement. Should the student be working at MCI during the month of December, a number of days will be pre-allocated to the week between Christmas and New Year when the MCI Brussels office is officially closed.
