In other words, we need you: The ‘make-it-happeners’.We are looking for an Associate ScientistScope of the jobYou will be part of the oncology therapeutic area and member of a team that develops and runs cellular assays for drug discovery projects on small molecules or other modalities.Your main assignment will be to run experiments in the lab and on top of this practical lab work, you will be involved in the analysis, reporting and discussion of experimental results within the team and within the wider oncology group.Your role
  • You contribute to one or more research projects. You actively contribute to the design and set-up of your experiments
  • You independently perform lab experiments following a detailed protocol or guidance provided by your manager and using multiple techniques and readout systems
  • You perform the analysis of your experiments using advanced calculation and you interpret your own data
  • You document your work in the Lab Notebooks according to guidelines
  • You report and present your work to your line manager
  • You perform your research activities within the foreseen planning and timelines
  • You perform your work according to safe laboratory practices and maintain the laboratory in a clean and orderly manner
  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, pharmacology or related sciences
  • 2-3 years experience in a drug discovery setting is a plus
  • You work accurately and precisely
  • You have experience with in vitro cell biology techniques (luminescent and fluorescent readouts, immunostaining, ELISA, PCR) and in culturing human primary and/or cell lines
  • You have good organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to work independently on a multi-day basis
  • Professional communication in English is a must, both in writing and verbal
  • You are a team player, highly motivated, flexible and a fast learner
