Duties

  • Serves as the Installation Automotive Crafts Facility Manager with responsibility for operation and implementation of activities in a diversified self-help automotive maintenance facility.
  • Provides technical knowledge in automotive maintenance and repair and also analyzes major trends and projects potential changes in program emphasis.
  • Plans and develops shop activities of the Auto Crafts Program, develops SOPs and submits budgetary requirements for both NAF and APF for equipment and supplies and labor.
  • Performs vehicle maintenance on NAF vehicles. Schedules and assigns work of lower graded employees.
  • Provides one-on-one instruction and guidance to patrons.

  • Possesses satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-13, to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • In consideration of COVID-19, personnel within this area routinely wear personal protective equipment (cloth face coverings, latex gloves, and face shields) while performing their regular duties.
  • Pursuant to EO 14043, all Federal employees, regardless of duty location or work arrangement, must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by November 22, 2021, or before entrance on duty if after November 22, subject to exceptions as required by law.

Qualifications

One (1) year of work experience that includes the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the work of an automotive crafts facility manager. (Note: Experience must be equivalent in complexity to the NF-3 level).
Experience may include but it not limited to:
  • Provide technical knowledge in automotive maintenance and repair;
  • Analyze major trends and projects potential changes in program emphasis
  • Provide one-on-one instruction and guidance to patrons etc.
AND

Specialized knowledge of automotive mechanical systems, to include repair and maintenance of vehicles.
