Barco has a hybrid data & analytics landscape to support on one hand its business centric end-to-end processes, and on the other hand its Barco software product applications. We operate in 3 core markets with state-of-the-art solutions: Enterprise (from meeting rooms to control rooms), Healthcare (from the radiology department to the operation room), and Entertainment (from movie theaters to live events). All with specific data needs.

Function

Barco supports its business centric end-to-end processes with following applications : SAP ECC, SAP BYD(cloud) , Salesforce, SAP CPQ, SAP GTS, SAP ME, SAP MII, SAP APO,….

The source data of these applications gets consolidated in the SAP BI global enterprise reporting.

Next to the global SAP BI reporting, data needs to be present as well on an Azure cloud data integration hub, to facilitate integration of the business process centric data with the product centric data from the Barco product bases, as well to feed self service data preparation and data discovery, visualization, AI, ML…

In that context, we are looking for a BI Designer who will contribute with innovation, maintenance, monitoring the SAP BI suite along its evolution path, and who will step up on the Azure cloud platform to strengthen the data integration with other platforms.

He/she will be part of the IT department and report to the business intelligence team lead.

As BI Designer, Your Key Responsibilities Are
  • Design and implement end-to-end BI solutions
  • You collaborate within an international team on new requirements along agile methodology :
    • You support the intake of demand from the business
    • You estimate and design the solutions of the prioritized change requests
    • You develop and perform unit / integration testing
    • You support user acceptance testwork and deploy to production
  • You focus mainly on the ETL back end datamart deliveries :
    • Apply best practice LSA++ frame work methodology on BW4HANA
    • Optimize the propagation & business transformation reporting layer by virtualization
    • According to bandwidth, you collaborate with business users on front end reporting requirements : SAP Analysis for Office, WEBI, SAP Analytics Cloud
    • Support & maintain Barco’s global enterprise reporting
    • You are part of the global BI team, which delivers world wide support to the business :
    • You investigate problems, search for root cause and structural solutions
    • You are eager to analyze and improve long duration run times
    • You contribute as BI designer if applicable with SAP BW upgrades, UAT system refreshes…
    • Support & maintain Barco’s cloud Data Integration Hub (Operational Data Store (ODS))

    According to priorities or bandwidth, you collaborate with the Azure designer on demand, delivery and support :
    • Take up demand from the business, translate into design, estimate
    • Develop solutions : Data modelling with Azure tooling and ETL data flows
    • Support business and analyze and improve ETL batch processes
    • Collaborate on data discovery challenges, data cleansing issues, visualization, ML, AI…..

    Your profile
  • You have a Master’s degree in software science, analytics or equivalent
  • You are a local resident
  • You have at least 4 years of SAP BW experience and strong knowledge of :
    • SAP BW ON HANA or BW4HANA
    • ABAP
  • You understand functional business processes and related reporting & analytics needs
  • You have knowledge of e.g.:
    • SAP Data services is a plus
    • SAP analysis for Office / SAP BO ( Web Intelligence) is a plus
    • SAP analytics cloud is a plus / SAP analytics cloud designer is a plus
  • Nice to have:
    • You have knowledge of, or strong interest in the Microsoft Azure tooling
    • You have knowledge of scripting languages
  • You have good communication skills, good knowledge of spoken and written English
  • You have strong analyzing skills & problem solving skills, combined with structured working
  • You can easily integrate into a (virtual) team, and also work autonomously
