NBI is leads Umicore’s efforts to identify and incubate next generation disruptive technologies with the aim of creating new business opportunities. In close collaboration with the business units and Corporate R&D, NBI covers Umicore technology innovation roadmap for the medium and long term. There is still so much potential waiting to be unearthed. Which is where you come in.

Battery Recycling is growing strongly and developing a commercial business in the next three years. You will have to develop business controlling, long term financial planning and the required reporting/ERP/metal hedging/MICR systems for Battery Recycling activities.

• Leading the way to connected, intelligent and continuous forecast and planning processes, incorporating digital transformation where relevant.
• Ensuring financial measurement, including set-up of financial parameters.
• Support and challenge management with financial translation of the strategic roadmap. Ensure different stakeholders are actively involved in the exercise and endorse the outcome.
• Develop a clear understanding of the business and its main drivers
• Evaluate business models from a financial perspective. Bring together commercial, operational, technology data and insights to develop a clear vision on the financial performance under different conditions
• Develop long-term models in order to quantify different business scenarios such as joint-ventures, large scale investments, partnerships. Identify the key drivers and their impact on long term profitability. Quantify uncertainty by integrating the necessary sensitivity analysis.
• Responsible for battery recycling controlling, translating financial results into solid business recommendations for the NBI-organization and management team
• Coordinate closing process – ie. revenue recognition, WIP calculation, metal results. End responsible for standard Month and YTD financial reporting under the Group’s cycle & structures.
• Ensuring correct metal accounting, avoiding unexpected metal exposure. Analyse boni/mali results and ensure boni sales are rolled-out according to plan. Advise on and implement the hedging approach for battery recycling.
• Ensuring yearly budget and quarterly forecast roll-out by challenging commercial, production and management teams, ensuring a viable and ambitious outcome in line with global strategy.
• Follow-up of cost variance analysis and KPI’s (yields,… ). Define with the business owners clear improvement plans in order to achieve the overall objectives.
• Analyze, challenge and make documented proposals for improvement of existing flows and creation of new ones aiming for lower complexity, improved efficiency and increased transparency. Ensure a clear overview towards the internal organization and its supporting dept (Tax, legal, trade compliance, P&T).
