Are you fascinated with Steel and willing to contribute to the success of our projects? Do you have the ability to strategically align the supply chain in order to find the optimum in quality, price and planning? We, within our challenging procurement department are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Category Buyer Steel Structures for the DEME Group.

You will develop and implement sourcing strategies for the engineered and large temporary steel structures like; mission equipment for the offshore business, sea fastening, and bridges varying from 10T to 5000T. If you are up for a new challenge where you can help our department grow, do not hesitate and apply!

Your responsibilities

  • You will take the lead in sourcing tenders, select suppliers, conclude, maintain and monitor agreements;
  • Develop and manage a network of reliable and stable suppliers;
  • You develop strong partnership with operational departments and budget owners;
  • You ensure that contracts are being executed accordingly and will take appropriate actions when needed;
  • You will mainly work from our HQ in Zwijndrecht, Belgium.

Your profile

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Economics or Supply Chain Management or similar by experience;
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills;
  • Interest and affinity for technical subjects, willing to learn;
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience;
  • Willing to travel 2 times per month;
  • Fluent in English.
