The chief accountant we are looking for wants to let go of the operational accounting tasks and is mainly looking for a job were coaching a team is the main focus! You will be assigned a team of 11 driven and promising accountants whom you may lift to a higher level.

So we are not just looking for a chief accountant, we are looking for a people manager! Have you already earned your stripes in accountancy & do you want to use this knowledge to coach & stimulate your team to implement efficiencies? Then this might just be the job for you!

To be perfectly clear, we are looking for someone like you with the right technical baggage in accounting, this way you can use this knowledge when working out the optimisations. This is an important part of your job. In addition, you will be working closely with various stakeholders in the organisation, so we are also looking for a real business partner.

Your challenge

As chief accountant you will mainly focus on the day-to-day management of the young and dynamic team of 11 people;

You have final responsibility for the entire bookkeeping, including the control and delivery of the monthly report;

Operational tasks within the accounting department are very limited in this role, but when your team can no longer see the wood for the trees, you roll up your sleeves spontaneously;

You are at the helm to shape the change processes and roll them out together with your team;

You will take on various projects autonomously and across the departments;

The process improvements you roll out are not limited to accounting. You will also work with various other departments;

You are the pre-eminent sparring partner in the field of finance for the entire organisation (at home and abroad) & therefore communicate fluently at all levels;

Finally, you are the right hand of the finance director.

Your profile

Soft skills & personality are key for this job!

You are someone who gets energy from guiding people

Experience in a managerial role is a plus but not a must;

As chief accountant, you are someone who thinks in solutions instead of problems;

You dare to challenge the business & different stakeholders;

You have no trouble working on projects; you are in charge of the roll-out of new processes/projects;

You speak and write Dutch and English perfectly;

Finally, experience is also important: at least 7 years of experience in accounting is required & this in an international environment.
