Mithra is looking for a Chief Operations Officer to support the CEO and the member of the Board with Operational matters. The work should be carried out from the Mithra headquarter in Liège.



Mission



Take overall responsibility for designing, developing and delivering the organization’s operational strategy and outcomes, and lead the day-to-day operations in the company as support the CEO.



  • Support the CEO in setting and communicating the strategy for achieving the organization’s mission, vision and values, together with the broad actions needed to implement it; inspire a large or diverse workforce to commit to these and to doing extraordinary things to achieve the organization’s business goals.
  • Serve as primary responsible for the cascading of Mithra’s strategy and operationalization of the strategy across the various departments. Work with the department heads to define objectives, milestones and ensure all CoDir members are working towards the same objectives.
  • Act as ‘transversal leader’, i.e. make sure all department heads are aligned and collaborate; be a catalyst for a collaborative organization. Play informal role to resolve internal conflicts (seen as a credible and informal sound board)
  • Develop and improve relationships with Board members, identifying priorities, issues and strategic challenges and preparing them for discussion. Participate in the development of corporate strategy, applying functional expertise to test the viability of the strategy and contributing creative ideas and insights to support the strategy formation process
  • Develop Mithra’s 10Y Plan and Strategic Plan in collaboration with the CEO; translate that Strategic Plan into actionable milestones for the Company; in that regards, anticipate mega-trends and complex challenges and opportunities across the Mithra product portfolio and pipeline. Ensure the strategy is successfully implemented and meets long-term business needs.
  • Hold an overview of all strategic topics to be progressed and solved in the short/medium term. Tracks- and ensures progress is made on those topics; those topics are by definition cross department topics.
  • Identify and manage stakeholders at- and up to C-suite level, finding out their needs, issues and concerns and reacting to these by leading and coordinating the development of stakeholder engagement plans to support the communication of business information and decisions.
  • Define the detailed organization structure for Mithra as a whole, to align with corporate principles, define the relationship between elements of the organization, and define the responsibilities of senior managers, to enable the organization to achieve its business objectives.
  • Identify the capabilities needed to meet the current and emerging business needs of a significant function. Evaluate current capabilities, identify gaps, and prioritize development activities. Embed personal development and the fulfillment of personal potential in the culture of the organization. Build capabilities elsewhere in the organization through mentoring and other informal methods.
  • Serve as liaison with staff, executives, senior leaders, and CEO regarding company climate, employee well-being, project updates, proposals, and planning
  • Assist the human resources department with new hires, including documentation and onboarding, and collaborate to address and resolve all employee concerns
  • Oversee daily operations in collaboration with senior managers and department leaders, and perform administrative tasks such as managing calendars, generating correspondence, maintaining hard copies and electronic files, planning and coordinating annual corporate meetings, and scheduling facilities
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert, handling inquiries, developing action plans, and assisting with preparation and dissemination of communications

  • Master’s degree or equivalent level
  • Experience level enables job holder to provide leadership to others regarding work related systems, processes and challenges (More than 15 years)
  • Experienced in strategic management and leadership across company functions directing substantial resources over long-time frames (More than 15 years)
  • Communication: using clear and effective verbal communications skills to express ideas, request actions and formulate plans or policies.
