Job purpose

The DMPC Solution Specialist supports Sony’s Content Creation business at the Sony DMPC Training Centre in Pinewood as well as through direct key customer engagement. This includes the development and delivery of training courses at DMPC and direct customer support of Rental Houses, Production Companies, Channel Partners and Broadcasters through a deep understanding of the application, system, workflow and customer usage requirements. The role holder will run the Centre on a day to day business and liaise with various industry bodies, alliance partners and Sony Japan.

Key Responsibilities and what you will do from day to day
  • Define, Present & Sell the Sony Value proposition of Sony’s Cinematography and Content Creation Solutions in perspectives of Product, Workflow Solutions, Operations and Technical benefits.
  • Run the DMPC (Digital Media Production Centre) on a day to day basis, creating training and customer support. Specifying Sony and third party equipment and manpower necessary to deliver the activities required. Work with the Training team to develop and deliver operational and technical training for the target audience
  • Work with the UK and European Key Account Team to present Sony’s Cinematography and Content Creation Solutions to Rental and Production Companies, Channel Partners and Broadcasters, mainly in UK but also Pan-European. Build trust and long-lasting relationships through honesty and integrity.
  • Keep on track of customer requirements and market movements by frequent customer and application involvement/visits and bring back Voice of Customer into the development team. Collaborate with the international Sony Cinematography and Content Creation Experts.
  • Prepare and feed relevant product and solution information into European Sales and Marketing Teams, including success stories into the communication process.

Competences we are looking for
  • Relevant University degree or equivalent.
  • Substantial product/application experience in the Digital Cinematography sector especially related to the shooting, on-set dailies and postproduction workflows, at the mid to top-end of the market. Personal experience of working with film crews, on feature films, drama series and commercials highly desirable.
  • Substantial experience in training Camera Operators, Camera Assistants, on-set workflow consultants, DIT’s and postproduction
  • Deep understanding and experience of the needs of customers/users/channel partners in the Digital Cinematography and Content Creation segment and how a Sony-based product/solution can be applied to solve their problems
  • Understanding of the needs of customers/users/channel partners in the Live Production segment desirable.
  • Substantial knowledge of networking, high speed IT solutions and detailed technical knowledge of MAC and Windows required
  • Language qualifications: Fluent English verbally & written, preferably also fluent in 2nd European Language
