The Pfizer Clinical Research Unit (PCRU) in Brussels (Anderlecht) is a state-of-the-art research facility with sixty inpatient beds dedicated to early clinical trials (Phase 1 studies). Working at the PCRU means that you will contribute to the development of medicines and vaccines that bring real benefit to patients. You will be an actor in the challenges that the world is facing, in full compliance with quality and safety standards. Role Summary
Responsible for the development and implementation of the Volunteer recruitment communication activities through process improvements, database optimization, as well as the Volunteer recruitment campaigns related to Pfizer Clinical Research Unit (PCRU).
Work closely within the Volunteer recruitment department and internal & external study teams, by managing a portfolio of Early Phase projects from launch to delivery.
Interact directly with internal communication team (Corporate affairs and communication team) to ensure what will be posted is in line with corporate guidelines.
Interact directly with external marketing & communication professionals for the development of promotional materials & messages for the development of the recruitment activities and increase of the clinical research awareness
Strengthen the overall recruitment strategy and operational needs by working closely with the scientific medical advisor/delegate and the CR recruiters on aligning Pfizer’s Early portfolio demands to ensure the correct population is targeted and ensuring robust database is built for those Early portfolio
- Working hours: 39 hours per week.
- This is an individual contributor role.
- This position is located in Anderlecht. This position is not eligible to relocation.
- Responsible for the development of media campaigns based on PCRU requirements and ensure they are in line with Pfizer’s global product development vision, mission and values.
- Ensure the relay with Corporate Affairs and Communication (CA&C) as well as local Communication point of contact for the PCRU. Ensure an adequate/appropriate assignment of Pfizer spokespersons at PCRU: make sure spokespersons are trained, retrained and available to represent PCRU in case of media queries.
- Responsible for the development of classic communication projects such as preparing and drafting press releases, Q&A, infographics.
- Work with Corporate Media Relations team to pro-actively create external networks with journalists by building and maintaining durable relationships.
- Responsible for the development of the content of social media to align with the PCRU image such as PCRU website content, video, articles and interviews placed in YouTube, LinkedIn, twitter ….and on TV, radio, magazines…
- Awareness of the PCRU trials.
- Responsible for the promotion of a positive image to help advance Clinical Research.
- Networking with Key internal and external stakeholders to enhance the reputation of the Business. Responsible for the creation of engaging text, video content for social media to increase visibility of PCRU.
- Responsible to identify, explore and implement new methods for subject recruitment and retention to extend the panel of participants to succeed in the conduct of broad range of Pharma- therapeutic and Bio-therapeutic Early Clinical studies.
- Work on recruitment campaigns to support the recruiting of volunteers.
- Responsible for recruitment campaigns, including the design, drafting & publication of advertisements in various media as well as ensuring internal and external (EC/IRB) approval has been achieved.
- Follow-up on the assessment of the clinical study recruitment activities and adjust/improve the process along the study course if required based on Return On Investment.
- Provide guidance to the staff for the communication methods towards participants including e letters, text messaging, mailings or other.
- Provide guidance to the staff to create, write and update recruitment related documents for participant use as appropriate.
- Represents the PCRU in reviewing assigned Customer Program Engagement (CPE) protocols and ICDs, as appropriate in view of recruitment.
- Represent the PCRU on global initiatives as subject matter expert, as appropriate. Participate in the communication of study related meetings.
- Ensure compliance of regulatory requirements related to the protection of participant’s confidential data.
- Ensure an adequate/appropriate assignment of Pfizer spokespersons at PCRU: make sure spokespersons are trained, retrained and available to represent PCRU in case of media queries.
- Ensure the management of the PCRU website: development of the content and ensure it is up to date.
- Ensure social media community management: provide input in case of comments and reactions linked to PCRU social media content.
- Interact with PCRU Medical Scientific Advisor or delegate to ensure promotion of clinical activities of the PCRU.
- Responsible for the interaction with external partners (E.g. Marketing and communication agencies, specialized recruitment vendors…).
- Ensure the Global Leadership team are kept abreast of all strategic activities.
- Work closely on a joint PCRU venture of promoting clinical trials on Clinical Trials International day & other external health fairs/events.
- Responsible for complying with Pfizer Standards, ethical standards, ICH, regulatory and legal requirements, national and European laws on health and safety at work, fire prevention and other appropriate legislation.
- Participate in the creation and implementation of global and local SOPs and act as subject matter expert as required.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing or life sciences is an advantage.
- Previous experience in functions involving brand management, communication, marketing, copy writing or in a clinical, pharma, healthcare environment is an asset.
- Previous experience in a highly regulated work environment/sector is required.
- Previous experience in functions involving a large element of people contact.
- Ability to communicate effectively with upper management, colleagues, participants, external customers.
- IT Skills
- Must have excellent working knowledge of computers, and familiar with Microsoft Office Applications – Extensive knowledge of Excel is an asset
- Good knowledge of the use of new media (E.g. Social media, virtual meeting applications, mobile applications…)
- Clinical Research
- Have a good understanding of drug development and hands on experience with clinical conduct of phase I studies is an asset.
- Language Skills: Excellent written and verbal skills in English. French and Dutch (for Belgium only) are essential. Knowledge of any additional language would be an advantage.
