Job purpose:


In this role you will be a key partner to one or more Vaccine Commercialisation Leaders (VCL) for some of GSK’s most important Vaccine product assets/growth drivers.

You will build and implement an appropriate partnership model to ensure that key stakeholders have access to information, market context, analysis and recommendations to help ensure the assets you are working on are as competitive as possible. You will work with key offshore/agency/consulting partners to guide and shape planned and ad hoc analysis of the market and competitive environment utilizing primary research and a wide range of secondary sources from clinical trials to investor/analyst platforms.

It will be key to understand the global asset strategy in detail (from target product profile to pricing and access strategy and everything in between) and then concisely articulate how events in the external world will impact our asset’s success and competitiveness in the market.

You will provide perspectives to the VCL and Vaccine Commercial Team on market intelligence and competitive landscapes throughout the brand’s lifecycle. You will provide key market updates to senior leadership and work with Investor Relations as appropriate to prepare asset specific support for GSK and/or competitor earnings calls. You will evaluate and improve how best to communicate such information.

As a member of the Strategic Insights and Intelligence team, you will partner with a Market Intelligence Analyst to inform the development of a central information hub and with Insights colleagues to align on mid/long term competitive threats to appropriately inform the development of global long range forecasts and LCM strategies.

Your responsibilities:

  • Partner – As a member of the Vaccine Commercial Team, you act as trusted Market/Competitive Intelligence advisor to the VCL on all relevant market and competition areas outlined above and bring objective, independent thinking
  • Analysis – Overall, you will lead the synthesis of internal and external data relevant to your asset responsibilities (e.g. market landscape, clinical trials, competition, competitor events, market trends) and relate its impact on our ability to be competitive
  • Periodic analysis –You ensure all relevant analysis is available for all relevant stage gates as required by our commercialization process
  • Unplanned analysis – You will help develop networks, systems, process that will enable fast response to unplanned/ad hoc analysis
  • Recommendations – You will bring out recommendations from your analysis and pro-actively propose new or further areas of analysis that is relevant to the assets place in life cycle/market
  • Rapid Key event coverage – you will shape and guide the coverage of key events relevant to the assets you work on, making a plan to cover, assess and rapidly disseminate key talking points
  • Intelligence Strategy – Working with the Head of Competitive Intelligence, you will help shape the evolution of the team to ensure it continues to learn, develop and build capabilities that take advantage of the opportunities that new technologies afford
  • Market Dynamics Hub – you will help inform the development and evolution of our vision to provide streamlined analytics and powerful visualizations to asset teams
  • Advanced Analytics - Understand and evaluate the utility of advanced analytics vis-a-vis the market/competitive intelligence function
  • In Direct Team– you will structure, define and lead the activities of the broader resource structure supporting commercial analytics. Lead and coach these resources on high, focused performance

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Master’s degree, with specialization in Life Science, Business, Economics, or Finance
  • Proven application of high-quality information analysis/synthesis/visualisation
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in healthcare, in pharmaceutical (medical or marketing background), management consultancy or financial institution.
  • Good understanding of the vaccine development and commercialization process
  • Experienced in matrix environment with ability to build strong relationships and drive impact across a range of functions, seniority, and geographical locations.
  • Track record of end to end project delivery
  • Vendor (agency/consulting) management including budgets
