Job Purpose and Impact

The CSST Industrial Product Line Manager – Paper & Packaging will provide advanced industry knowledge to assist in the development of long-term category growth strategy and short-term execution thereof for the European region and to achieve margin target year over year. In this role, you will be involved with category insights, starch-based solutions development, strategy planning and analytics, execution and measures, product portfolio, profit and loss management and provide account managers with strategic direction for target customers. You will guide and influence cross functional teams, prioritize initiatives and resources to serve our customers while overseeing profitable growth delivery for the Paper & Packaging category. The role sits within the Renewability segment, industrial starch group focused on delivering value and solutions to customers within the Paper & Packaging market.
In addition, this role is expected to lead the global coordination for industrial starches by proposing new avenues for profitable growth and distinctive local value proposition. Main focus areas of the 20%-30% time dedication to global activities would be to guide local teams in set-up for success, coordinate relationships with global customers and support build up of a healthy innovation pipeline.
Location: Remote opportunity - Belgium or Netherlands preferred but flexible across Europe for the right candidate. Key Accountabilities

Develop and communicate the customer-driven category strategy and conduct competitive analysis, define the value proposition and provide strategic direction to the sales and strategic pricing teams.
Execute the category strategy by leading a cross functional team from research and development, operations, supply chain, technical service, marketing, pricing and sales to meet or exceed the margin growth target.
Drive profitability of the category by measuring the key financial drivers of the category.
Evaluate the business cases for customer backed or market forward projects and make recommendations to the leadership for network optimization, capital investment and resources deployment
Execute as the commercial lead for approved projects to achieve the category strategic growth targets.
Lead coordination of the global category team by providing regional information, contribute to build the global portfolio and share best practices.
Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems. You may provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Proficiency with business financial processes, product line management and/or business development in industrial, paper and packaging applications
Commercial business skills to comprehend earnings drivers
Minimum of 6 years of related work experience
Good knowledge and skills to work within a matrix organization.
Good communication skills (verbal and written)
Strategy achievements and business development
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree or master of business administration with a concentration in general management, finance or marketing
10 years experience in product line management, product development or business development
A track record of working within the Paper & Packaging market with good knowledge of starch-based solutions value
Ability to comfortably operate, influence and deliver results cross functionally.
Rigorous project management skills with focus on value proposition development and commercial business plan delivery.
P+L management understanding.
Strong commercial acumen, entrepreneurial by nature and motivated to drive growth, change and achieve the business goals.
Previous experience operating with global scope/ involvement would be a plus.
