Function
The Barco software group is at the forefront of innovation in the context of Barco’s digital transformation.
Barco has made the step to digitalize the current business by adding software on top of the existing hardware core business and enhancing customer satisfaction by optimizing the customer workflows through software.
Subsequently, as all products become cloud connected, this enables the possibility to sell additional software services and obtain insights in our products on basis of large amounts of data.
To ensure a scalable, performant, secure data pipeline, re-usable across our diverse product portfolio, we are searching for an experienced Data Cloud Architect, with experience in R&D and product development, and hands-on knowledge on Azure cloud platform technologies and functions(eg. Azure IOT, Eventhub, Blob storage, Kusto DB, Cosmos DB, Data Factory, Databricks, Time Series Insights...).
Key Responsibilities
As our Data Cloud Architect, you
  • align with the corporate strategy and related business architecture to derive strategic data requirements
  • create an end-to-end vision on how the data pipe-line must be structured to meet these requirements
  • design, document, construct and deploy database architectures and applications (e.g. data lake)
  • design measures to ensure data accuracy and accessibility, to monitor, refine and report on the performance of data management systems
  • integrate technical functionality (e.g. scalability, security, performance, data recovery, reliability, etc.)
  • research new opportunities for data acquisition, identify and evaluate current data management technologies
  • set data architecture principles, create models of data that enable the implementation of the intended business architecture
We Are Looking For a Barco Colleague Who...
  • Has a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.
  • Has experience across all phases of data modeling, from conceptualization to database optimization.
  • Has a good understanding of Azure and Amazon cloud platform and functions. (Knowledge of ELK & Kafka is nice to have.)
  • Has knowledge in established and emerging data technologies: either experienced or conversant in emerging tools, predictive analytics, data visualization, and unstructured data.
  • While you are not necessarily an expert in all of these above technologies, you understand them sufficiently enough to guide the software organization in understanding and adopting them.
  • Your strong communication, presentation, influencing & facilitation skills enable you to effectively communicate about methodology, modeling and governance as well as architectural issues & concepts to all levels of the organization including executive management.
  • You are located in our headquarters in Kortrijk.
