Open to: EU Nationals and NATO Nationals, excluding the US, who do not need a work permit or who possess an unlimited single permit to work in Belgium.

Major Duties

As an Emergency Management Specialist, you will:

  • Provide advice to protect military and civilian personnel.
  • Examine and coordinate the development of emergency plans and military support to civil authorities during emergencies resulting, for example, from natural hazards, or acts of terrorism.
  • Coordinate actions with the various organizations in the host country.
  • Represent installation command, attend conferences and meetings with representatives of federal, regional and provincial agencies.
  • Plan and carry out the implementation and operation of crisis management programs as well as their consequences.
  • Identify, analyze and make recommendations to resolve problems or situations arising during crisis management planning and their consequences.

Knowlege, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of managing crisis and emergency situations
  • Ability to plan, organize and develop a variety of documents and instructions
  • Ability to analyze facts, identify problems, report results, draw conclusions and recommend solutions or other appropriate measures to resolve emergency situations.
