Environmental, Safety and Facility Coordinator

As an Environmental and Safety Coordinator you develop and co-ordinate the organization of programs to prevent injuries or health impairments and to prevent environmental problems. You provide advice, support and guidance on all aspects of E&S to the different departments in the company. You implement the company’s policies and procedures towards E&S. You create a good relationship with the different governmental agencies.

As a Facility Coordinator, you will be accountable to provide an attractive, clean, accessible, safe and well-planned environment to help employees to work in optimal conditions, with regard to material and physical comfort, in line with the goals of ScioTeq.

Cost effectiveness is one of the key objectives for the Facility Manager.

Your responsibilities

Environmental and Safety Coordinator:

• You monitor safety and environmental performance and recommend priorities of actions and solutions for improvement.
• You play an active role in the safety committee (give advice and guidance)
• You identify safety hazards inherent in the activities of the organization and you draw up procedures for the implementation of preventive measures for the related risks.
• You audit Environmental and Safety programs for compliance with company standards, and the applicable legislation.
• You develop and implement a risk assessment method throughout the company’s activities on site.
• You develop a good professional relationship with the different stakeholders in the organization. Communication, negotiation and convincing are crucial factors to success.

As Facility Coordinator:

• You manage the daily activities of the Facility Department, including but not limited to the facility helpdesk (tasks, reporting…), general building maintenance, physical security, etc…
• Project management: planning and follow up on the achievements within the project (including financial review)
• Maintenance contracts: technical negotiation with the possible suppliers and assist procurement department in the financial negotiations. Administration of the maintenance contracts.
• You develop good professional relationships with the different stakeholders in the organization. Quality of work, accurate planning, timely and respectful communication, keeping promises, integrity … are only some of the crucial factors to success here.
• You will be accountable for building and property management.
• You will be in charge of space planning and footprint in accordance with the company goals.
• You will be accountable to keep the facility budget under control.

Profile

• Master degree in Engineering or Bachelor degree equivalent through experience.
• “Prevention advisor level 1” (Preventieadviseur niveau 1)
• “Environmental coordinator level B” (Milieucoördinator B)
• Born leader, result and quality oriented
• You possess strategic insight and are able to align easily with the company’s objectives
• You can work independently and can manage complex situations
• You have gained relevant experience both in E & S as well as in Facility management
• You are fluent in both Dutch and English – German, French are assets
