Accenture’s EU Government Relations (GR) practice works to create a political and policy environment to advance the business objectives of our leaders in their markets. We develop meaningful relationships with decision-makers and influencers in government and business; engage on important policy matters and facilitate a leadership position within industry bodies.

Your Job

  • Assist GR colleagues and leaders to develop and implement effective political, legislative and regulatory strategies aligned to their objectives.

  • Establish and maintain organisational relationships with EU officials, industry trade associations and industry government relations representatives.

  • Provide insight on political and legislative developments that impact Accenture’s business objectives.

  • Support business to build strategic relationships, align to market positions and manage reputation risks.

EU GR is part of the wider European GR practice and the person in this role will report to and primarily support the EU GR Lead. Depending on their strengths, personal interests and team needs, an element of their time may also be used to support the wider EuroGR team.

Client team support - contribute to our success in the marketplace based on political and policy insight, advising senior colleagues within and across Accenture on political, legislative and regulative changes, that could shape business opportunities.

Policy advocacy –help inform a policy landscape that supports our business, by supporting the delivery of proactive, innovative and responsible advocacy programmes. This will include the dissemination of thought leadership and research on key policy topics to enhance our leaders’ external engagement, including delivery of roundtables and other events.

Proactive positioning – position Accenture as a leading professional services firm and as a responsible business with policymakers, by identifying and shaping opportunities to position Accenture as a thought leader on digital policy and support the business to build strategic relationships that align to market positions, create business opportunities and manage reputational risks.

Research and monitoringMonitor, track and provide timely and targeted insight on political and policy developments likely to impact Accenture, our clients and our offerings.


Your Background

  • Demonstrable interest in – and good working knowledge of – politics, public policy and the issues important to Accenture. Likely to have been gained through three or more years of relevant experience.

  • Outcome-focused with a proven ability to organise, manage and deliver projects on time and to budget;

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with the ability to summarise complex information effectively for a senior leadership audience;

  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities to effectively position companies and their policy agenda i.e. speaking opportunities, partnerships, collaborations.

  • Strong network and track record of building relationships.

  • Ability to work effectively within a cross-cultural, multinational environment.

  • Team player, flexible and pragmatic, with strong interpersonal skills.

  • English language proficiency is essential
