The Finance Senior Manager will support the Benelux & Nordics commercial markets with all finance related matters and with direct involvement in financial decisions, planning and analysis. The finance Senior Manager will ensure the completeness and accuracy of the books and records, ensuring an effective internal controls environment and furthering business strategies through being an active member of the commercial leadership team. The Finance Senior Manager is also the primary custodian for ensuring the maintenance and adherence to statutory requirements in all markets, including all applicable acts, taxes and laws impacting financial reporting or integrity. The region comprises statutory legal entities and other distributor markets thereby requiring a modified approach to each market.
Markets in the cluster are supported through a combination of shared services (ZFS), finance center of excellence (CoE) and regional tax center. The Finance Senior Manager will be responsible for the close collaboration amongst the centers to ensure the business knowledge is maintained and appropriately reflected in key financial deliverables.
Responsibilities
  • Support all business interactions relating to financial performance and strategic business decisions and plans
  • Present business results, financial projections and financial analyses to senior management. Participate in business reviews and represent the financial implications of the business strategy to local and International leadership
  • Working with the Finance CoE and commercial business in the development of the financial budget and financial forecast
  • Serve as the financial advisor to local / cluster leadership on key commercial decisions and business strategies. Monitor, track and report business performance with proactive identification of issues, opportunities and challenges. Ensure that the business utilizes its resources in the most efficient manner
  • Support and manage major change initiatives as necessary, including business development activities, integration of new businesses, migration to new financial systems and processes and finance transformation activities as deemed necessary
  • Support Local Management Financial in ensuring processes are in place and optimal, and that their financial information is accessible and understood
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and submission in accordance with US GAAP, Zoetis policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations for the markets within the cluster
  • Work closely with ZFS and Netherlands Controller as a point of contact to provide any oversights for the Nordics and Belgium/Netherlands market local/statutory
  • Ensure an effective internal control environment. Coordinate the planning and lead the execution of local internal and external audit work with in-market teams. Working with subject matter experts to provide support for any local tax audit
  • Support BEP Finance in liaising with EEMA Commercial Finance as needed
Education
  • Professional accountancy qualification (i.e. Certified Accountant or equivalent)
  • University degree in finance, accounting or business administration
Experience
  • 10 years post qualification experience
  • Experience in the Animal Health industry is considered an asset
  • Prior experience leading change in a dynamic business environment
  • People management experience preferred
  • Strong preference for solid international exposure
Skills
  • Strong analytical background with strategic thinking capabilities and attention to detail
  • Solid understanding of accounting, tax, treasury, internal controls, financial systems and processes
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management both verbally and in writing with strong leadership capabilities
  • Ability to influence and drive decision making with commercial leadership and taking initiatives
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
  • Ability to multi-task, consistently meeting deadlines on multiple projects and activities
  • Work effectively in a team environment and in building collaborative relationships with peers and with other stakeholders
