Main Goal

As Financial Controlleryou will be responsible for all Finance aspects of Napoleon Sports & Casino that includes but is not limited to P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash. You will lead and drive the implementation, follow-up and auditing of reporting. You will report directly to the CFO and will be a key member of our finance leadership team, working closely with senior stakeholders across our thrilling organisation.

Your responsibilities

In this role you will be able to combine hard and soft skills in a role where both financial & people leadership our equally important.

Financial Leadership:

  • Key responsibilities include managing end to end transactional processing leading to P&L, balance sheet governance & cash reporting
  • Oversees financial statement preparation in compliance with local Company Law and filing timelines
  • Maintains a suitable internal control framework with a focus on identifying and managing financial risks
  • Brings insightful financial analysis which creates value – demonstrates good judgement and influencing skills. Driver of change & not afraid to do things differently
  • Provides guidance to the team by acting as a sounding board for ideas / suggestions
  • Works with senior stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement, both in financial systems and in processes. Able to build support for change and lead from the front

People Leadership:

  • Leads and develops a high-powered team of qualified professionals - provide visible leadership and gives clear direction
  • Ensures there are clear objectives and escalates blockers to delivery as appropriate
  • Provides team direction by allocating resource across the team to meet deliverables and to avoid conflicting requirements; taking consideration of both short and long term goals
  • Holds career development and performance conversations with their team and ensures they all have development plans in place
  • Provides one-to-one coaching to team members and mentoring to the Finance team
  • Ensures team output is accurate and timely
  • Promotes a culture where existing practices and processes are challenged and improved upon

Your profile

  • Qualified accountant with 10 years post-qualified experience in fast paced industry environments
  • Expert knowledge of accounting and financial practices, tax, and applicable legislation with strong grasp of IFRS reporting
  • Establish strong “business partner” relationship with the functional teams
  • Being social and assertive, able to proactively gather information from different departments
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Excellent English language written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to express financial concepts to non-financial colleagues
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Business Central / Tagetik is helpful but not essential
  • Flexibility and ability to grow with us, both in the role and company
