We are looking for a talented Firmware Engineer, who can apply his/her knowledge and skills on innovative technological products. As Firmware Engineer, you will be responsible for the imagination, development and validation of our product features. You will join a multidisciplinary team working together on outstanding products and experiences.

FutureWave is a fast-growing Belgian agency tightly combining creative designers and engineers. We help organizations imagine, design and develop physical products that stand out. From idea to production, we focus the design and development of products on innovation, aesthetics, interactions and performances.

Located next to Brussels, FutureWave is part of a creative ‘co-working’ space, the Zaventem Ateliers, created by famous designer and architect Lionel Jadot. We work in our own private office space and atelier, surrounded by various prestigious designers and craftsman’s.

???? Main tasks ????

  • Brainstorm on new products, imagine and optimize their interactions and derive their functionalities - 10%
  • Define the software architecture – 5%
  • Work on the low-level drivers of the different PCB developed by our Electronics engineers. – 25%
  • Develop, test and validate amazing features with a focus on User Experience and usability – 60%

???? Knowledge and experience ????

  • You have a strong experience with electronic products
  • You have valuable professional or side project experience using C/C++ for embedded software.
  • You have a strong understanding in object oriented concepts.
  • You have knowledge in Python scripting.
  • Experience with connectivity is a plus (BLE, Cellular, GNSS, etc.)
  • Experience with PCB design is a plus.
  • Experience using Github, Rust and Docker containers is a plus.

  • A Bachelor or Master degree in Software Engineering .
  • A passion for aesthetic and innovative technological products
  • Result focused mindset, ability to drive the team to design impressive new products
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Excellent technical, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Fluency in English is mandatory
