As General Manager HR at GC Europe, you will be a business partner for our leadership team providing guidance and leading by example. You will be responsible for drafting and implementing HR strategies, programs & policies. You lead a team of 3 HR professionals, and report to the EMEA HR Functional Owner.
What is your mission?
- Providing guidance and direction in Human Resource matters to employees and managers at the Leuven site.
- Provide guidance and leadership in related HR projects to managers.
- Draft and implement Human Resource strategies, programs, and policies to support and achieve corporate business objectives in alignment with corporate HR Function, contributing to the organizational excellence and the promotion of positive employee relations.
- Draft and implement long-term strategies in line with corporate Human Resource short-term and long-term policies and in line with applied business philosophy.
- Establishment of the Human Resources budget within financial KPIs, ensuring continued budget and OPEX control throughout the fiscal year.
- Monthly reporting of HR budget-related actions and activities and related HR metrics.
- Develop and lead talent acquisition as well as development strategies to anticipate market needs according to company growth. Connecting of performance assessment and performance evaluation outcomes with learning and development actions.
- Analyze, develop, and implement an Internal Communication Plan to ensure the right messages are conveyed using the existing most appropriate channels.
- Provide support and input for the evolution of business services, employment management, organizational design, and governance relationships between GCE NV and the corporate HR Function.
- Provide input and implement an organizational design for a Job Grading approach in coordination with the corporate HR Function.
- Design, implement and sponsor initiatives to support and guide the company culture dissemination.
- Provide leadership, sponsorship and role-modeling for habits and practices that recognize and embrace a multicultural environment and build cross-cultural competencies.
- Introduce succession planning for critical roles to support internal mobility where needed, encourage longer-term resource planning, and enable the future structure needs.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation and internal company policies including local social and labor laws and audits.
- Maintain positive industrial relations through liaison with relevant local government entities answering social security & tax authority information requests.
- Establish appropriate management representation relationship with Work Council and its unionized representatives, employees, and managers.
- Handle day-to-day human resource activities by managing a team of 3 HR professionals.
Requirements
- +8 years of experience in a senior HR manager role in a matrix environment
- Master’s degree or equivalent expertise gained through referenced experience.
- Solid knowledge of Belgian social legislation, employment rights and regulations
- Experience with management representation role in Work Council situations
- People management experience
- Thorough knowledge of human relation practices, theories, and principles
- Strong analytical skills and good proficiency with MS Excel
- Proficient in MS Office and HR tools applications
- Command of Dutch and proficiency in English language.
