As a BioScience Materials Global Category Manager, you will be accountable for delivery of the Procurement fundamentals across the area of responsibility e.g. delivering financial saving targets, negotiating contracts, mitigating risks, etc.

  • Accountable for developing and communicating procurement world class strategies for all materials/services in scope, supporting the delivery of global qualitative and quantitative targets.
  • Build close partnerships and alignment across all sites and regions where the materials/services in scope of the role are consumed. Identify and challenge constructively business requirements with the support from the relevant Site Procurement teams.
  • Lead, manage and develop a global supply base that deliver business requirements across assurance of supply, quality, regulatory compliance, service, cost and innovation, for the categories in scope.
  • Lead strategic relationship with Tier 1 suppliers under your accountability.
  • Drive a culture of collaboration and engagement across the global organisation. Work with other teams to share best practice across categories and business units. Support Site Procurement teams to resolve recurring deviations involving the category or the supply base under the accountability of the role.
  • Tracking and delivery of KPIs to drive mutual collaboration with the regional teams and support the global strategies.
  • Engagement with stakeholders across the E2E supply chain – working collaboratively with all Supply Chain stakeholders across the business to drive strategies across the materials/services within scope of the role.
  • Accountable for delivery of robust market intelligence assessment and act as the expert for category within GSK.
  • Supports the delivery of the financial plan in category team
  • Developing & Embedding Processes & Ways of Working as the new Procurement operating model evolves, work seamlessly with the Manufacturing site and hub team
  • Ensure full compliance with any applicable Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Apply the Integrated Controlled Framework methodology and mindset.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelors Degree in Economics, Chemistry, Procurement or Supply Chain
  • 5+ years procurement experience gained in Large Blue Chip, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare or FMCG Environment.
  • 3+ years project management experience with cross-functional stakeholders in a multi-cultural environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Masters Degree in the areas above or MBA
  • Direct material experience in BioScience Materials would be a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to forge close business relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all management levels
  • Proven ability to forge close business relationships with specialized supplier networks is required as well as good understanding of BioPharma manufacturing processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated evidences of Procurement fundamentals: designing and implementing global sourcing strategies, delivering stretching saving targets in single-sourced and highly regulated environment, negotiating supply agreements, developing and rationalizing a global supply base.
  • Business & commercial acumen with demonstrated success in delivering a competitive commercial advantage.
  • Great analytical skills using internal and external data.
  • Demonstrated ability to forge close business relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Expertise in delivering change initiatives to switch supply base to achieve higher value in highly matrix and decentralised environments
  • High energy, enthusiastic and results driven with strong business acumen.
  • Develop and present persuasive arguments to deliver change and influence stakeholders
  • Resilient and persistent with the ability to make the right decisions.
  • Creative, conceptual thinker, problem solving/analytical skills.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work in a matrix environment and with a high tolerance for ambiguity.
  • Strong verbal and written skills.
  • Manufacturing experience, knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma is a plus
