Global Customs Specialist

Our client is Atlas Copco Industrial Technique, one of six division of the global multinational company Atlas Copco. In order to internalise its customs and international trade compliance strategy, it seeks to hire a global customs specialist.

As Customs specialist you will be responsible for the global mapping, reviewing, optimizing and help controlling our client’s business areas customs flows/set-up, in line with the Group’s and Business Area’s trade compliance policies. And assure that our client adheres to all applicable international and national customs regulations and laws. You will be their reference on customs matters.

You will be part of our client’s trade compliance international team and cooperate with different internal and external parties.

You will report to the Trade Compliance Lead.

In this role you will :

• Support implementation of procedures and assure trade compliant processes and procedures;

• Actively seek updates for regulatory updates to (inter)national customs;

• Propose the best customs strategies on import and export, for our entities and for our business area in relation to customs authorities worldwide;

• Assist in the Business Area’s assessments to identify risks and corrective actions;

• Help the expansion of our client’s organization by implementing correct customs processes and procedures, in line with customs regulations;

• Track our client’s flows and operations in terms of customs, therefore you will also be in close contact with our client’s distribution center(s) and logistic departments;

• Continuously search for improvements and efficiencies in customs;

• Lead or be part of customs oriented projects;

• Be the contact point for customs related questions within the business area;

• Coach and train our client’s staff in custom related matters within our client’s ITBA-PTBA customs strategies;

• Audit our client’s custom strategies and processes as well as our client’s partners’ strategies and processes.

• You have a Master degree, preferably in law;

• You have 5 years or more of relevant customs work experience • You can communicate fluently in Dutch and English( spoken and written); Other languages are a plus;

• Deep EU customs knowledge required;

• You have experience in leading projects;

• Good knowledge of the use of Excel is a requirement;

• Knowledge of SAP/ SAP GTS is a plus;

• You are communicative and able to build long term professional relationships with your Atlas Copco colleagues as well as with external parties;

• You are proactive, always looking for a better solution and you make sure things get done;

• You are open to change, learn quickly and adapt easily to new technologies;

• You are result oriented and a go-getter;

• You share information and best practices with your colleagues;

• This is a global function which can require travelling
