For TME Graduate positions
we are targeting recent University Graduates (less than 18 months of experience excluding internships).

Your Profile:
Your profile
1. Education Level:
Master in Mechanical Engineering (or Automotive Engineering)

2. Experience:
  • Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering experience, in design & development of complex mechanical parts, preferably but not mandatory, in the area of vehicle chassis parts and systems.
  • An actual professional working experience, up to 18 months, is an asset. If you have more than 18 months of experience (excluding internships), you are no longer considered a Graduate.

3. Technical Skills/Expertise/Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of the general vehicle design and Mechanical design (structural mechanics, material engineering, frequency response analysis, production methods/processes, …)
  • Knowledge and experience with FMEA method is an asset
  • Knowledge of advanced design solutions for chassis parts is an asset (FEA, topology optimisation, simulation of vehicle and part behaviour, …)
  • Analytical approach and Problem-solving mind
  • Cost and quality conscious mind
  • Good knowledge of office IT tools

4. Behavioural Skills / Key Competencies:

  • Experience with design optimisation & topology tools is an asset

Your team and your responsibilities:
Team/division description
Chassis Division’s responsibility is:
1) Development of Chassis parts and systems (Suspension, Tyre, Steering, Brake…) to achieve the highest driving performance and quality at a competitive price.
2) Local development of Chassis parts for vehicles built in Toyota’s European assembly plants.
This activity is done in close cooperation with local suppliers and Toyota Motor Corporation in Japan.
3) Investigation of new European technologies.

Your responsibilities
The main expectation from a candidate in this area is to successfully support Chassis system and parts development. Below are examples of typical activities:
  • System & parts design to achieve target performance in multiple chassis area’s like Suspension, Tyre, Wheel, Steering Wheel, Shifter, …
  • Design and validate the vehicle dynamics performance, including brake control or power steering assist.
  • Simultaneous engineering with other stakeholders in the development of wheels and interior parts (stylist, Body design engineers, …).
  • Coordinate development activities with chassis vehicle evaluation team.
  • Lead development with related divisions in Toyota (e.g. R&D, quality, plant, purchasing).
  • Cooperate with suppliers to complete development tasks.
  • Pursue cost and weight reduction activities with suppliers and purchasing support.
  • Scout, evaluate and propose new technologies for chassis system and parts.
  • Proactive benchmarking activities for chassis system and vehicle performance.
  • Review chassis performance, seeking further improvement for end customer.
