At A Glance

Within TUI, Indirect Procurement is a support organisation which offers procurement support services and subject matter expertise in procurement, strategic sourcing and compliance management to all divisions within TUI Group.


This role is to manage procurement operations, systems, third party expenditure and ongoing supplier management for the businesses of TUI Group in the TUI Western Europe Region. Primary focus is on the categories of IT, Marketing, Business Services, Facilities Management, Fleet Management and Human Resource Services, however operations must cover all transactional procurement activity, regardless of category.


The Head of Procurement Western Region will lead a source market procurement team of 4 buyers, 1 procurement manager (TUI FR) and 1 fleet manager (TUI B) to deliver common procurement standards across the regions and will have ownership of procurement systems in use. Working in conjunction with other procurement managers and senior buyers in multiple countries, this role will require the candidate to manage the procurement process on behalf of internal customers. This individual will support execution of global procurement strategy.


The Head of Procurement will report directly to the TUI Group Operational Procurement Director and indirectly to the CFO of the TUI Western Region (matrix structure).


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Responsible for the execution of TUI Group’s Indirect Procurement strategy within the designated region.
  • Responsible for leading and developing the source market procurement teams with the designated region.
  • Responsible for the further development of the procurement systems.
  • Responsible for on-time delivery of required bought in goods and services at the lowest ultimate TCO and/or best business value.
  • Developing and expanding the influence and visibility of procurement within TUI WR and systematically expanding the work area / involvement of the procurement department.
  • Responsible for managing the regional purchasing processes to meet audit and compliance requirements.
  • Responsible for managing the relationship with internal customers to meet / exceed expectations.
  • Responsible for the identification and delivery of synergies and P&L benefits across all businesses in the designated region
  • Responsible for supplier relationship management processes.
  • Accountable for clear communication of agreed strategy, purchasing updates, contract information.
  • Responsible for planning, coordination and prioritisation of support for projects within the designated region.
  • Responsible for ensuring the right contractual conditions are in place within region to manage TUI Group risk.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all contracts within their teams remits are uploaded onto the Contracts Database


Key Relationships (Internal & External contacts):

  • TUI WR and BeNe Board, Heads of Departments, TUI Group Management.
  • Customer: Key stakeholders, budget managers (Business Unit, and Senior Management),
  • Internal Suppliers: i.e. Legal, Audit, Insurance & Tax.
  • External Suppliers: Current and potential providers of goods, services and advice to TUI Group and its businesses.


What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in procurement team management.
  • Experience in delivering digitalization of processes to improve efficiency.
  • Exposure to purchasing system roll out and understanding of post implementation support issues.
  • Experience of stakeholder management in a complex decentralised global environment with a high pace of change.
  • Ability to lead, prioritise and manage complex projects and sourcing activities under pressure.
  • Ability to manage and analyse complex data under pressure.
  • Understanding of cultural differences and ability to cultivate win/win solutions.
  • Awareness of change management techniques and conversion into effective delivery.
  • Awareness of digital leadership and conversion into effective delivery
  • Multi-lingual, in particular Dutch, English & French language skills.
  • Graduate calibre.
  • Proven track record of negotiation and strategic sourcing ability.
  • Strong contracting ability.
  • Demonstrable record in use of eSourcing systems and understanding of their implication
  • Willingness to travel.

This role is expected to work on an international basis both independently and as part of or leading multifunctional teams. The individual within this role will be expected to be a proactive, self-starter, demonstrating a high degree of creativity and desire to raise the bar and work outside of their comfort zone.
