VEDELEC NV is a leading European B2B wholesaler of spare parts and accessories for household appliances. From Ghislenghien, we supply electro shops, parts shops, web shops and service stations all over Europe on a daily basis. In a society where repair of electro-goods in a context of sustainability is getting higher on the agenda, we are gearing up for further growth.

Therefore, we are looking for a purchasing manager to join our team and take responsibility for the operational and strategic purchasing policy of the company. This position plays a crucial role in managing and optimising our procurement processes, ensuring that our wide product range is procured at the most favourable terms.

Responsibilities

- You develop and implement procurement strategies to minimise costs, ensure availability and guarantee quality.

- You negotiate prices, contract terms and delivery times with suppliers. You build and maintain strong relationships with existing and newly sourced suppliers.

- You lead a team of 3 employees, with whom you follow up the entire purchasing process, from order to delivery to quality follow-up.

- You are responsible for updating and maintaining our purchasing conditions in the ERP environment, a crucial element in the process of optimal pricing and margin creation.

- You work with other departments, such as sales and logistics, to ensure that stock levels are optimal and meet customer demand.

- You report to management on purchasing results.

- You identify and implement improvement opportunities within the purchasing department.

- You keep your finger on the pulse regarding market developments and relevant laws and regulations.

Qualifications

- You obtained a Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics).

- You have at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role.

- You handle large amounts of data skillfully in Excel, and you also enjoy looking for the most efficient way in other software packages.

- You are hands-on, pragmatic and have a proactive and results-oriented approach. You combine this with strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.

- You have excellent negotiation skills and experience in contract management.

- You communicate fluently in both Dutch and English. Knowledge of French is an added advantage.
