Our organization

Scylla AG was founded in 1973 as a family business. We are an internationally operating shipping company with offices in four countries and more than 2,000 employees on our cruise vessels. We offer high-quality cruises, covering everything from ship design to crew. That is what makes Scylla unique. The vessels, including crew and services, are marketed internationally by various tour operators including our inhouse tour operator VIVA Cruises. Our fleet of 38 ships is expanding, and we are constantly on the move and looking for new opportunities. To support us in our ambitious plans for the future, we are restructuring our HR department and creating a Talent Acquisition team.

Responsibilities

As Head of Talent Acquisition you will help us to set up our future T&A team. You will become our brand ambassador and our business partner towards the hiring managers. The focus of the team will be on recruitment of crew members on board of our vessels for both hotel and nautical positions.

Main Tasks

• Develop talent acquisition strategies, hiring plans, selection processes and SOP’s
• Create candidate profiles and assessments for various positions in line with our cultural values
• Create a dashboard to determine current and future staffing needs
• Set up international recruitment campaigns in coordination with our marketing department
• Employer branding initiatives and ensure a positive candidate experience
• Perform sourcing to fill open positions and anticipate future needs
• Build a sustainable network of manning agents, job portals, embassies and other partners
• Provide managers with training regarding interview skills
• Organize and attend career fairs and open days onboard of our vessels
• Social media management in cooperation with our marketing department
• Use metrics to create reports and identify areas of improvement
• Set up referral promotions
• Follow trends and perform market research and benchmarks.

Your profile

• Proven experience as a talent acquisition leader
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources or relevant field
• Experience in the river cruise industry or hotel industry is a plus
• Experience in full-cycle recruiting, sourcing and employer branding
• Understanding of all selection methods and techniques
• Proficient in the use of social media and job boards
• Willingness to learn about the duties and competencies for all positions
• Fluent in the English language (verbal and written); good knowledge of the German language is an advantage
• Experience with Schengen Visa D procedures is an advantage
• You are a leader and a strategic thinker with a hands on mentality
• Excellent communicator with great empathy and people skills
• Independent working style and high level of personal responsibility.
