Job summary/Role description

The HSE Officer assists the HSE Engineer/ Supervisor with ensuring that all site activities are performed according to HSE regulations, standards and procedures.


Duties and responsibilities

  • Check and assure that Subcontractors perform their activities in accordance with the current HSE procedures and regulations, promoting all necessary action to ensure that the said procedures and regulations are observed;
  • Hold or participate to periodical Tool Box meeting with all the work force;
  • Cooperate with the HSE Engineer concerning the proper implementation of any necessary work permit requirement;
  • Ensure the proper registration of any accident, near misses case and assist the HSE Engineer in conducting the necessary investigation and to identify the corrective actions;
  • Conduct the day by day safety inspection at site and to identify the areas of hazard to be rectified;
  • Keep updated the HSE Statistics;
  • Actively participate in the organization and coordination of the site emergency response team.


Knowledge & Qualifications

Suitable University Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent.

Experience

  • Significant experience in construction of fertilizer or petrochemical plants;
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a HSE Officer.
  • Similar role covered in projects that are of a comparable size;

Skills and Abilities

  • Fluent English;
  • Excellent IT and analytical skills;
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong interpersonal, team-oriented skills, self-motivation and direction, with strong bias toward timely performance and problem resolution;
  • Attention to detail, strong communications and interpersonal skills.
