Volvo Group Digital & IT governs the overall Process and IT efficiency within the Group. The function drives the usage of common processes, common IT systems and IT infrastructures.

Infrastructure & Onsite Services (IOS)

Infrastructure & Onsite Services is in charge of all Volvo Group IT infrastructure services. As the majority of these services are delivered by a partner, the mission is focused at governing and controlling this partner, as well as managing the remaining IT infrastructure delivery teams in Volvo.

Architecture Office

The mission of Architecture Office is to Develop and Govern the implementation architecture for Infrastructure Services, ensuring the delivery and usage of the IOS Infrastructure Portfolio. By that, Architecture Office contributes to Volvo Group competitiveness by delivering standardized and fit for purpose infrastructure services, maintaining a balance between time to market, cost and quality.

We are now looking for an IT Architect Infrastructure Portfolio for Engineering Services

In this role you will be reporting to the Head IT Architect of Volvo Group IT/ Infrastructure & Onsite Services

Role mission & context

Work with modern technologies and industrialized services in public cloud as well as In our traditional IT landscape. Driving the implementation and standardization agenda done in close relationship with our partner(s) and in alignment with the overall Volvo Group target architecture and long term strategy.

You will work closely with other IOS teams, our main partner’s as well as other Volvo Group Digital & IT units.

The Engineering Services segment architect has responsibility for creating and maintaining the Target Architecture map and ensuring its use across all Volvo Group Truck Divisions, Business Areas and Group Functions.

This role does not include driving implementation projects or specific solution designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and facilitate the management of the segment architectures.
• Identify and escalate missing infrastructure technical capabilities which are relevant for the segment.
• Produce and maintain the long-term segment architecture strategy and roadmaps, in collaboration with other Volvo Group stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the other architecture functions and in particular act as an escalation point for Infrastructure portfolio in the context of the segments.
• Communicate and synchronize meetings with the different stakeholders involved in the segment.
• Support overall IT strategy of the segment with the relevant infrastructure services architecture
• The maintenance of the inventory of the current IT infrastructure services used
• The maintenance of the requirement register was established, including the communication and synchronization meetings with the different stakeholders.

• Strong English written and oral communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies
• Ability to meet the agreed targets, deadlines and goals without direct, day-to-day supervision
• Ability to work in an international team with colleagues that have diverse cultural backgrounds
  
  

Core skills:

• Experience with building architecture/solution roadmaps
• Experience designing, integrating and managing enterprise-level infrastructure solutions for Application Hosting
• Good understanding of network & security technologies and concepts
• Good understanding of End User technologies (Workplace, UCC) and concepts
• Ability to provide technical system solutions, determine overall design direction and provide recommendations for complex technical issues
• Experience planning and developing support processes and adhering to best practices
• Strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies
• Architecture Modeling and Documentation using UML and ArchiMate standards
  
  

Advanced skills :

• Cloud Solution Architecture
• HPC and Data Analytics Infrastructure Solutions
• List your Architecture Certification(s) (TOGAF, IASA, etc.) and platform Certifications (RedHat, Microsoft, IBM, etc.)
