Long Description

As a Buyer you will work in a team. You work closely with the business and are ultimately responsible for the new end-to-end category management to be set up. The focus is on direct categories for primary services and materials. You research which solutions are available in the market and make ’make or buy’ decisions. You support the department in determining the purchasing strategy and policy. Together you will build a new, refreshing department that represents the interests of all TE connectivity components.

Scope
  • Run competitive bidding process
  • Conduct Supplier Negotiations after the RFQ process
  • Create sourcing decision support document
  • Problem-solving with suppliers and internal functions
  • Represent Procurement in Core Team meetings
  • Understand the customer requirements and deploy the actions for the requirements within the organization and with the suppliers
  • Support other co-departments to achieve TE targets of TTM, savings, quality, delivery and localization
  • Contribute to implement TE Procurement strategy
  • Responsible for carrying out duties in accordance with the current quality and environmental policies of the company as well as the duties defined in employee’s scope of responsibilities
Requirements
  • Mechanical engineer (preferably but not a must)
  • At least 1- 3 years of experience in procurement
  • Experience in the Automotive Industry is a plus
  • Negotiation skills
  • Project management skills
  • Assembly, Moulding or Stamping experience is a plus,
  • Ability to demonstrate strong customer focus and continues improvement attitude
  • Advanced knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office, i.e. Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint; SAP
  • English, and / or German; any other language is an advantage
  • Commercial or Legal background is an advantage
