Junior Researcher Entrepreneurship: competencies and ecosystems

As a junior researcher on entrepreneurship competencies and ecosystems, you will be engaging in multi-method research as part of the research cluster Smart Ecosystems and Networks (SEN). The vacancy is offered mainly as part of an Erasmus+ project on the identification, measurement and development of entrepreneurial competencies.

In this project, AMS SEN is responsible for the development and validation of a measurement model to capture entrepreneurial competency needs over the entrepreneurial life-cycle and with special attention to influence from the entrepreneurial and industrial ecosystem (industry 4.0 technologies, platform business models etc.).

As part of SEN, you will also be offered opportunities to engage in other research and company projects on the nexus of innovation, entrepreneurship, inter-organizational networks and large-scale (societal, sectoral) value creation. As part of the multidisciplinary AMS SEN group and a European project consortium you will be offered ample opportunities to meet and learn about different methods, disciplines, nationalities and research fields. Our activities cover a broad range of fundamental and applied research, advisory, workshops and teaching for candidates eager to learn and expand their horizons.

Applications are open to any Masters-level qualification in social sciences (applied economics, sociology, social psychology, theory & methods, ...).

Do you have experience with or an interest to develop yourself in:

• Researching the competencies that make entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs successful in different life-cycle stages and environments?
• Analyzing the influence of entrepreneurs on their ecosystem and vice versa?
• Survey-based research and the evaluation of training program outcomes?
• Developing new concepts and conceptual models from literature and interviews?
• Collaborating in a multidisciplinary, multi-national research team?
• Being self-directed in project work and managing the completion of assigned task packages?
• Other, qualitative methods, such as social network analysis, QCA or case-study research?

We are looking for candidates with an entrepreneurial mindset, who are comfortable in project management and in engaging with companies and stakeholders. Candidates should be able to express themselves fluently in English, both in conversations and in writing.

A full-time, fixed-term contract (approximately 1 year and 10 months), with prospect of a longer term engagement.
