For our client we are looking for a Key Account Manager Contract Manufacturing. Our customer is a leading European food group that manufactures and sells high-quality food products. Our customer is European leader in several food categories such as bakery products. The headquarters of our customer are located in Ghent.

Today, our customer is looking for a Key Account Manager Contract Manufacturing for the business line MCOF (Margarines, Culinary oils and Fats). This is a new role that will report to the Commercial Manager Co-packing.
The Key Account Manager Contract Manufacturing will manage part of the existing co-packing accounts and follow up on new projects in order to meet the channel sales objectives, establish relationships of trust with customer decision-making teams and manage new projects with teams both from the customer side as well as internally.
Your key responsibilities and tasks are:

  • Managing existing co-packing relations in different business segments: for FMCG and FS branded players as well as upstream suppliers
  • Establishing and negotiating development & supply agreements
  • Setting-up full supply chain contracts for third parties including different departments in the organization (including logistics, operations, quality, etc.)
  • Working out the correct pricing mechanisms for co-manufacturing contracts
  • Managing new projects and leads
  • Developing a full partnership with existing partners, including new product development, market intelligence sharing, checks for capabilities and capacity needs
  • Participating in sales budgeting in line with the business line strategy and assuring to achieve the targets
  • Analysing sales results in relation to budgeted objectives; discuss differences and implement the necessary actions to deal with them
  • Advising customers (market trends, improvement options, investments) as well as internal departments (market information,…)

Your profile:

  • You preferably hold a Master’s degree in Business Engineering or Bio-engineering
  • You have min. 3 years of experience within a commercial and/or KAM role
  • You have experience in the food business
  • You have experience in a b2b context
  • You’re dynamic, enthusiastic and eager to learn
  • You have project management skills
  • You have strong analytical and financial skills, combined with a drive to successfully complete projects
  • You’re a great communicator and negotiator and you can handle pressure
  • You’re a trusted partner to the client’s customers. You’re able to build strong customer relations and come up with creative solutions to drive long-term relationships (retention is key)
  • You have a great sense of ownership and have a hands-on mentality
  • Knowledge of SAP is an additional asset
  • You are fluent in English. Knowledge of Dutch is a plus
