An Ecolab Company is seeking a Lab Technician to join its industry team. This position will develop you from a technical and service-oriented collaboration with peers and customers into an account management role. The first part of your career will hold a big part of your time investing in developing skills around understanding the dynamics within the water related applications that runs at a variety of customers by doing analytical services and some “light” maintenance like replacing probes. In a few years you develop yourself including a wide variety of sales training to be offered to get yourself to the level of account manager. This account management role covers more in-depth conversations with customers and a consultative sales approach, you’ll build relationships with existing customers by understanding their key business drivers and executing system assurance programs. With strong account leadership, you’ll also convert strategic competitive accounts and sell new technologies to current customers. We are looking for someone based in Wallonia Belgium, area of Brussels – Nivelles - Charleroi.
What You Will Do:
- Willing to invest your time by deploying many analytical services at a range of customers
- Develop your skills (technical and applications) by doing lab analyses, building a report and discuss these reports with your key-stakeholders at customer locations
- Responsible for various aspects of sales, with the following distribution in mind: 5% Account management, 5% Sales Acquisition, 70% technical support for on-site customers, 20% administrative tasks to support your daily work;
In a second phase (after 2-4 years) you developed yourself with many account management skills to:
- Generate and execute sales plans in existing customer base and in assigned competitively-held accounts, to meet profit increase goals.
- Work closely with current and prospective customers to understand business needs and recommend continuous improvement and innovation plans that will maintain and grow sales
- Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders in current and prospective customers, including plant or facility executives
- Provide technical support to customers; identifying and resolving customer challenges, escalating as required
- Engage in problem solving by performing system analysis, interpreting data and providing written recommendations to ensure customer operations are performing at optimal levels.
- Actively sell and support Nalco Water innovations and technology in assigned customers to promote long-term business relationships with Nalco Water
- Responsible for various aspects of sales, with the following distribution in mind: 30% Account management, 30% Sales Acquisition, 20% technical support for on-site customers, 20% administrative tasks to support your daily work;

Training programs are held in the field and at the company Headquarters in Naperville, IL; travel arranged and paid for by the company. Based on your skill level, topics covered may include technology, product, service, business and industry acumen, direct coaching and mentoring, management and leadership, classroom training and certifications.
Profile
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree engineering (chemical) or life sciences (biology, chemistry, etc.)
- 3 years of technical sales or field sales support experience or junior with strong communication skills
- Strong communication skills
- Affinity with sales
- Water treatment or specialty chemical industry experience
- IT systems experience
- Team spirit and eager to learn
- Driver’s License
- French and English are required
