Kortrijk Xpo is an event complex in Kortrijk that houses about 30 of its own fairs and numerous external fairs on a yearly basis. The complex has 6 large halls, 2 intermediate halls, a large multipurpose hall ’XXL’ and a conference and seminar space in the form of the Kortrijk Xpo Meeting Center. The total exhibition area amounts to 55,000 m2, making Kortrijk Xpo one of the largest exhibition complexes in the Benelux.

For Kortrijk Xpo, Schelstraete Delacourt Associates is looking for a M&A Director.

The M&A Director will be crucial for Kortrijk Xpo’s growth plan as s/he will manage, drive and execute business development strategies within the Western-European region with a main focus on acquiring other B2B fairs/fair companies. This can be seen in the broadest sense: take over, take participation, create joint-ventures or create partnership structures.

The M&A Director will work together closely with the Exhibition Managers throughout the organization as well as with the Finance Department to jointly execute due diligence, build networks, build business cases and strategy, etc.

The M&A Director will be in charge of:

  • Leading and executing the M&A activity across (Western-)Europe;
  • Developing and maintaining an efficient commercial network and identifying targets (deal finding);
  • Performing research, monitoring the B2B companies, conducting feasibility studies and developing business case scenario’s;
  • Evaluating investment opportunities and conducting competitive analyses;
  • Conducting financial evaluation and deal negotiation;
  • Managing the deal execution process from end to end;
  • Building and maintaining relationships with external advisors;
  • Building a pipeline of future acquisitions, joint ventures and disposals;
  • Assisting in acquisition integration and post-acquisition reviews.

  • Commercial M&A experience: "hunter" profile;
  • Strong networker;
  • Fluent in Dutch, English and French;
