Position Summary The EMEA Regional Category Manager, Meetings & Events Services will have regular exposure to a wide range of procurement related business activities at the company. This category is critical as it covers significant spend and impacts the meetings & events and travel related experience of both J&J employees and HCP/GO (Health Care Professional, Government Official) customers. This role includes all aspects of Meetings & Events Services for a selection of EMEA countries and J&J Sectors leading the delivery of the Johnson & Johnson Travel & Meeting Services (JJTMS) Strategic Meetings Management (SMM) program by the JJTMS Preferred Global Agency suppliers to drive Consistent Service Excellence. Related program oversight includes demand management strategies, HCP travel & meetings service, EMEA supplier management, program savings and providing accurate reporting and analysis to the EMEA Sectors and partnering with Business Partners. The Manager-Category Lead will be responsible for handling approximately $52 million in meetings and travel related spend for Johnson & Johnson Companies. This spend is medium to low complex in nature and requires a collaboration with Business Partners to execute. This individual will identify, develop and manage the implementation of the JJTMS SMM and Procurement goals and strategy. Plan and manage the organization’s activities and deliver against targets for financial performance, quality, service and compliance adherence. This individual will provide Leadership within the assigned markets for developing end-to-end category leadership such as category strategy development, maintaining key relationships within the business and managing key supplier relationships. The position must shape, connect and lead resources to deliver on key projects. The Manager-Category Lead’s scope of responsibilities include: Develop and drive the Procurement vision with the Business Partner community. Developing the vision, strategy and implementation plan for specific categories of spend that will meet the long range requirements of the business partners and deliver the maximum value. Develop and deliver communication plans around the compliance with policies, programs and strategies; be able to measure and communicate compliance at the J&J affiliate level. Directly contact senior executives and other supplier account leadership to assure alignment of JNJ’s objectives are met, including quality, reliability, innovation and cost. Understands operational considerations. Identifies business demand requirements and partners with Business Engagement Leads to deliver annual value improvements and drives advantage. Understand long range requirements of the business partners and engage in planning and partnering to ensure alignment Deliver on financial, service, reliability, quality, risk, innovation, and growth commitments Build and manage relationships throughout JNJ that results in dynamic interactive dialogue on a broad range of perspectives and information critical to the development of efficient approaches and solutions Develop deep supplier relationships with strategic suppliers to include data review and analysis, performance management and development and improvement of end to end value, and bring innovation to the business Identify, develop and handle the implementation of Procurements goals and category strategies, based on deep subject matter expertise and an informal understanding of industry/market dynamics Raise issues that may impact the Global Procurement organization. Major Duties & Responsibilities (Approximate Percentage of Time) Develop and execute Procurement strategies that are aligned with the business/sector needs, primarily MD and Consumer Healthcare (25%) Lead supplier relationships, communicate changes to category strategy, execute joint collaborative initiatives, and supervise supplier contracting (30%) Ensure execution of category strategies to include: sourcing strategy execution, contracting details, contract implementation and performance against established targets (30%) Facilitate the development, implementation, and maintenance of processes, policies, guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures, and Business Operating Principles (10%) Provide updates to Global Procurement Leadership (5%) Qualifications Required Qualifications Required Minimum Education: Bachelors Degree Required Years of Related Experience: 5+ Years Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Uncompromised requirements for the role): (Include any required digital literacy, certifications, licenses, languages, etc.) English Language speaking and writing proficiency Strong verbal, written and presentation communication skill Leadership, communication, influencing, collaboration skills are required Broad-based understanding of business operations and practices and core Procurement areas of focus (Spend Management: Category Management and Supplier Management). Able to prioritize requests, and propose effective cost/customer service alternatives when vital. Ability to show judgment in developing innovative approaches and resolving issues Customer Orientation (building and maintaining positive relationships with J&J Management) Project Management skills MS Excel and PowerPoint proficiency Business Acumen Ability to continuously improve the organization through proactive change implementation management Preferred Qualifications Preferred Minimum Education: MBA or Equivalent Other: Preferred Area of Study: Business or related field Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Experience using Cvent or other Meeting Management technology Strong level of proficiency with core Procurement skills (e.g., Supplier Management and performance, Category Management, Procurement Excellence, etc.) Strong level of credibility with internal customers, and with the supplier community Ability to influence and understand differing needs of Business Partners Primary Location Belgium-Antwerp-Beerse- Organization Janssen Pharmaceutica N.V.
