As Manufacturing manager, you’re head of the production team in Hasselt. You are responsible and ‘Process owner’ of the manufacturing process of our globally sold products ‘Simplant and Mguide (3D printed pieces) and ‘Atlantis Suprastructures’ (3D printed in metal and milling via CAD/CAM).

Your tasks will include:
  • Manage staff, safety, compliance, quality, productivity, delivery and continuous improvement (including lean) of the department
  • Set overall direction of department in consultation and alignment with the site lead, peer managers and company goals and values
  • Identify, gather data for and report operations metrics and review periodic quality trend data and resolve/escalate issues as needed and required by the QMS
  • Administer and comply with all corporate system and policies. (E.g. time card reporting, time off request, annual reviews, CAPAs, etc)
  • Work closely with peer managers with the goal of optimizing the total performance of all aspects of operations including seamless communication and transparent decision-making
  • Foster employee engagement by continually developing employees and creating a positive, progressive work environment
  • Ensure training requirements (new employees, cross-training and re-certification) are met and documented
  • Performs as a people manager and has an eye for the individual needs and motivations of his employees, but also for team needs
  • Attend or schedule management and project meetings as needed
  • Disposition complaint reporting, including root-case analysis and corrective action
  • Be a continuous improvement/lean manufacturing/kaizen champion, including continually seeking opportunities for improvement and waste reduction
  • Handle assignments as requested by the company
  • Responsibilities may include complaint investigations
  • Be document owner of the local work instructions of the department
  • Authorized to halt production whenever the safety and health of operators can get compromised

Profile:
  • Deep knowledge of advanced manufacturing machines and processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English
  • Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, self-motivated, ability to handle high volume workload and changing priorities in a high paced department
  • You’re an inspirational and supportive people manager, able to motivate and bring a team together to deliver results
  • Ability to travel internationally 1-2 times per year
  • Training and demonstrated proficiency in lean, 5S and Kaizen or similar principles, preferred
  • College degree preferred but not required (depending on experience)
  • Experience in a regulated (FDA, ISO, military or similar) production facility preferred
  • Computer experience, ability to create reports and use of standards MS office applications
