The MSL is a field-based scientific expert within osteoporosis at works externally and internally, and closely with an integrated team across functions. As the Medical Science Liaison Osteo you are the key scientific discussion partner that interacts with national and international Thought Leaders (KOLs), and other healthcare professionals (HCPs) at various phases of the product life cycle. Core content of these discussions will be topics of unmet medical needs which are of scientific / developmental importance to UCB in osteoporosis. The MSL role includes scientific discussions, presentations and responses to unsolicited questions.

As the Medical Science Liaison Osteo you are involved in feasibility processes around new clinical studies and are the primary contact person for investigators interested in investigator initiated research, donations and grants. You are also responsible for developing, driving and executing medical initiatives, and for reviewing materials at the local ecosystem Level

• Impact the business within UCB’s strategic roadmap, as a trusted scientific partner throughout a product’s life cycle and therefore directly improve patient care by gathering/sharing crucial insights.

As a UCB ’scieninspiring’ person, you will be responsible for:

• The agile and proactive identification and management of key scientific and medical influencers based on local ecosystem dynamics.
• The exploration and identification of new sources of patient value (innovative solutions and services) to place the holistic disease burden of people suffering from osteoporosis high on the healthcare agenda
• The design and execution of the local eco-system´s medical plan, including driving and managing medical projects
• Establishing partnerships with KOLs, payers, patient organizations and patients to advance medical initiatives, in defined clinical practice areas, to drive optimal patient care.
• The management and generation of product/disease state data (Phase III/IV, IIS, audits, RWE etc.)
• Supporting the development of RWE in the local eco-system, leveraging the value to UCB solutions for patients to medical and payer communities and the presentation of RWE/HEOR/clinical information to regional payer accounts and formularies.
• Supporting with clinical studies and clinical development by helping with site selection, site initiation/monitoring with CRO and sharing insights with the R&D team
• Serving as the leading local scientific expert for UCB in the therapy areas, able to provide scientific expertise and interpretation of scientific data to external and internal parties.
• Ensuring scientific accuracy in all materials at local eco-system level
• Escalating insights, innovation opportunities and patient needs within the organisation

Interested? For this position you’ll need the followingeducation, experienceand skills:

• Academic background within Natural/Life Sciences or Pharmacy, PhD is a big plus
• Languages: Dutch, French and English (written and verbally).
• 1-3 years of previous MSL experience is advantageous.
• Proven track-record having worked with biologics within immunology and preferred osteoporosis.
• Launch experience would be of advantage.
• Excellent communication/presentation skills.
• Ability to clearly articulate complex scientific concepts in 1:1 and group settings.
• Ability to actively listen and process information to identify opportunities.
• Business acumen with a good understanding and holistic view on the healthcare ecosystem.
• Influencing skills, by building trust, staying consistent and being assertive in a considerate way
• You are energetic and driven to push things forward
• Networking: you can build strong relationships in a positive and focused way
• Likes to work in a team as well as independently.
• Capable of prioritizing effectively and having a sense of urgency.
• Great project management skills
