A family-owned company, Vadigran initially was entirely dedicated to the production of mixtures of seeds for birds and small animals. Later it extended its activities to the distribution of accessories and various foods for dogs, cats, small animals, birds, wild birds and fish.

At a prospected growth rate between 20% and 30% for the coming 5 years, logistics operations are one of our major challenges. High growth pushes the limits of the current capacities, increases the need for firefighting while at the same time acceleration the need for long term planning.

You will have to build a human organization and coach your team to develop their talent while recruiting talent where you find gaps. The head of logistics will play a key role in a full digital transformation in 2022-2023.

Together with your team of 3 persons you are responsible for the planning processes of Vadigran. This includes Sales and Operations Planning, Materials Requirements Planning (including Master data set up) and in a later stage Master Scheduling. In this role you will report directly to the Chief Supply Chain Officer.

» Lead monthly Demand Reviews meetings and challenge sales team with their forecast, via analysis showing trends, gaps, inconsistencies.

» Drive internal consensus on demand forecast with 18 months horizon.

» As a result of the Demand Review meeting and part of S&OP process you provide the best signal to the whole supply chain.

» Engage with sales and marketing to understand demand drivers, risks and opportunities and include that knowledge in the demand plan.

» Monitor and optimize supply plans to maximize value through a focus on asset optimization, plant balancing, logistics costs, inventory control, and product transition minimization.

» Model "what-if" scenarios and propose optimized solutions based on variable supply/demand conditions, including new product introductions

» Identify, communicate, and escalate variances from plan, as a result you and propose alternatives where demand plans cannot be met.

» Define and maintain optimal finished product and raw material inventory levels targets.

» Set up Interfaces with Manufacturing, Logistics, QA, Purchasing, and other planning groups regarding material availability and changes in demand

» Closely collaborate with Sales & Product Management for an active management of the portfolio

» Evaluate new business opportunities and provide assessment of supply capability.

» Measure forecast accuracy and bias as part of the KPI’s and drive actions for improvement. Prepare analysis and propose new forecasting models to have the right inventory in place.

» Monitor short term sales performance versus sales forecast. Take action to ensure adequate forecast projections are maintained by sales manager.

» Review operational dashboards and monitor efficiency of countermeasures and CI activities. (OTIF, Inventory, Logistics Costs, Freight).
