Power System Expert

We are looking for a Power System Expert to join our Energy department based in Louvain-la-Neuve, in the Brussels area of Belgium. As an Energy Grid Solutions expert, you will help the company be the top reference in Advanced Analytics Solutions for energy markets & power systems. You will contribute in particular on key Energy projects around transmission and distribution system operation at N-SIDE.

What you’ll do

• Provide Grid consulting services, including interacting with internal experts and customers; translating complex technical/business matters in key messages through effective communication (oral, slides, reports); being at ease to discuss with the customers on grid topics
• Leverage Grid expertise to identify the most critical needs for our clients and guide our solutions development on the most relevant topics; help in the development of such innovative Grid solutions by interacting with our experienced team of analytics and optimization experts
• Follow European regulatory trends and guidelines (such as EBGL, SOGL, CACM, etc.), and make sure they are shared to improve our knowledge, consulting services and products
• Be able to understand client needs and feedback, identify main improvement levers and translate advanced analytics solutions into a business-oriented language
• Build a strong relationship with customers, ensuring strong customer satisfaction and allowing to identify cross-selling opportunities for N-SIDE energy products

About you

• You have 5 years or more of prior experience as a power grid practitioner, in areas such as System Operation, Balancing, Planning, Control Room operation, …
• You have a solid understanding of challenges associated with the power system operation and a good vision of the trends such as e.g. control room of the future, evolution of the role of TSOs in the future, …
• You are interested in advanced analytics techniques (e.g. optimization, machine learning), any previous experience is an asset.
• You have strong proactivity, sense of initiative and responsibility
• You communicate and explain clearly technical problems
• You proactively interact with external and internal stakeholders at all levels
• You enjoy solving complex problems
• You are customer-minded and results-driven
• You are a team player and open-minded
• Fluent in English. Other languages are an asset.
