We are seeking a Product Development Manager Agricultural Solutions to drive our product innovation, manage field trials, and ensure successful project execution. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of agricultural solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Enhance the company’s development performance by managing and executing business development projects, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic vision business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Field Trials Management:

Hands-on engagement in development activities such as field trial planning, monitoring and data analysis.:

• Lead and coordinate all aspects of external field trials, including budgeting, protocol selection, execution, data collection, and financial management.
• Supervise and assess protocols conducted by external partners and prospects, facilitate communication and collaboration, ensuring the accurate transformation of field data into actionable insights for technical and marketing teams so to drive their strategies
• Collaborate with external biostatisticians to refine data interpretation, maximizing insights and strategic decision-making.
• Ensure the development, implementation, and use of data repositories to store both historical and ongoing field trial data, ensuring accessibility and usability across teams.

Project management:

Strategically plan and execute development projects for the validation of lead candidates and for the development of new products.

• As project lead/coordinator, manage the implementation and follow-up of internal and external projects.
• Ensure the efficient performance of development projects, focusing on practical implementation rather than fundamental research.
• Identify and secure funding opportunities for projects through relevant subsidies (e.g., DGO6, EU programs), enhancing financial sustainability and innovation potential.
• Manage communication and collaboration with external stakeholders for technical development, such as field-testing programs or new formulations.
• Coordinate internal laboratory activities required for development projects, ensuring seamless collaboration with R&D staff for formulation development, greenhouse testing, and small-scale proof-of-concept experiments.

Innovation Strategy and market monitoring

• Propose, develop and lead innovation-based product development plans based on consultation with internal experts, market research and first-hand information from current and potential co-development partners.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal experts and external partners to maximize the success of our product development programs
• Communicate regularly and effectively to key stakeholders on opportunities, strategies and outcomes.

What We’re Looking For:

Education & Experience:

• Master’s degree in agronomy or biological sciences (PhD is an asset).
• Advanced scientific knowledge, experience and skills in diverse AgTech areas, particularly in plant protection against biotic and abiotic stress. Experience in field trials and data analytics is an asset.
• Experience in the agrochemical and/or biocontrol industry, preferably with a strong industry network and well acquainted with current agricultural solutions in the field of pesticides and biocontrol products.
• Experience in leading agile cross-functional teams is an asset, but even more important is a collaborative and motivational mindset and a good understanding of how trust and communication lead to performance.
• Experience in organizing and managing complex projects and the ability to write grant proposals for obtaining R&D subsidies.
• Proficient in English. Good knowledge of French is a strong asset.
