RESPONSIBILITIES

The position is based in Zwijnaarde, Belgium at the Innovation Center and position is Regionally focused on trait research, plant breeding, seed production, and seed supply chain.

What you can expect:

• Proactively define and implement the Stewardship program to oversee and confirm compliance in activities ranging from Research to Commercialization to Product Discontinuation.
• Leadership for regional Stewardship colleagues across multiple countries. This leadership role requires strong intercultural understanding when adapting requirements to local guidelines.
• Manage and direct regional Stewardship colleagues and help identify and provide opportunities for their professional development.
• Identify regional best practices to include globally.
• Develop and execute analyses, involving cross-functional team of experts, for any notable Stewardship non-conformances or potential incidents.
• Interact with, and build strong relationships with, Regional business, supply chain, Regulatory, Legal, and other function colleagues to encourage adoption of Stewardship initiatives.
• Communicate effectively between Regional colleagues and Stewardship function to ensure all business needs are addressed in Stewardship compliant manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in agricultural, biotechnology, or seeds industry.
• Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams to manage crisis situations to achieve positive outcomes.
• Graduate degree in agriculture, biotechnology, biology or related.
• Previous experience leading a team including remote employees strongly preferred.
• Experience with Quality Management Systems and Seeds Stewardship.
• Broad understanding of key scientific, regulatory, legal and IP, public policy, and technology acceptance issues faced by agricultural industry.
• Good practical knowledge and work experience in plant biology, agriculture biotechnology, genetics, and genomics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills to understand business needs, question practices, and improve approaches.
• Independently driven and self-motivated.
• Goal oriented mind set with strong organizational and work management skills.
