Headquartered near Hamburg, with Sales & Service offices in all major markets, our group designs, produces, installs and services sophisticated machines for the production of pharmaceutical tablets and capsules worldwide.The combination of high speed, high precision and full automation requires the very best engineering skills in the fields of process, mechanical, electronics and software design.Fette Compacting Belgium, located in Mechelen, is the group’s innovation centre for the development of new technologies and machines for the pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities of the future.To grow our Research and Development (R&D) team, we are recruiting a Scientific Process Engineer.As Scientific Process Engineer, you will be part of our Future Technologies Team and working closely together with Process, Mechanical and Software Engineering, as well as supporting the Sales department.The Scientific Process Engineer has an important contribution into the successful process testing and evaluation of new potential technologies to be integrated in Fette Compacting’s product portfolio, including experimental data analysis to quantify the performance. Your main responsibilities will be to coordinate, perform and report testing of new and incremental developments by using scientifically based approaches. Moreover, your build-up process expertise will be also used during customer trials and demonstrations in the presence of the pharmaceutical customers, leading to the successful sales of our technologies. In addition, you will give scientific and practical support to academic R&D projects with various universities and research institutes.Your Tasks Will Include
  • Acquiring in-depth understanding of the Fette Compacting technologies & machines, including continuous manufacturing equipment, the process and the operational handling.
  • Apply the acquired know-how on both internal & external testing projects:
  • Setting up an experimental plan for process testing by using scientific based approaches
  • Execution of the test plan with respect to quality targets and data management
  • Scientific reporting of the obtained test results for both internal and external use
  • Assist during machine tests for customer product trials and academic projects
  • Provide process feedback to respective engineering teams for design improvements.
  • You have a higher degree in the field of Pharmaceutical, Process, Chemical or Biomedical sciences or Engineering.
  • Passionate as you are about Research & Development (R&D), you aim to safeguard a Scientific Approach during testing. A sincere interest in process testing and quality is required.
  • You always work meticulously with respect to the applicable guidelines and rules as required for a pharmaceutical production operations and reporting.
  • You are committed to collaborative problem solving, customer dialogue and delivering a quality product/report.
  • You have good experience in using Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, One Note)
  • Operation experience in tableting and/or spectroscopy is a plus.
  • You are willing to follow training to extend you skillset on data handling and reporting.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Dutch.
  • Your work location will be at Fette Compacting Belgium in Mechelen. Regular travel to Fette Compacting Germany (Hamburg) will be part of the job.
