Robert Half is currently recruiting a Senior Accountant for a company located in Antwerp.

Our client is a company active in international energy services and solutions.

The main accountabilities for this job include:

Oversee all aspects of general accounting and bookkeeping tasks for Belgium, France and Germany - order to cash, purchase to pay and record to report, including managing local banking operations in each territory;
Oversee the production of statutory accounts for Belgium, France and Germany with local accountancy firms, managing relationship with external auditors where applicable;
Understanding of fiscal and VAT laws and being experienced with month-end closing and reporting in BE-GAAP;
Take ownership for the production of monthly trial balance and financial statements for each of the company’s legal entities;
Work with the Senior Finance Manager, Benelux and other finance colleagues to work with business stakeholders to ensure they understand the monthly actual accounting results;
Work with Financial Controller to ensure financial data and communications with the company’s UK branch are performed on a timely basis;
Work with the office manager to ensure all payroll activities and administration are performed on a timely basis, working with the outsourced payroll provider and HR teams where required;
Become a champion for risk and control activities in Belgium, France, Germany, ensuring business colleagues adhere to back-office processes;
Maintain approval flows via ExactOnline / Blue10 / Rydoo and look to enhance current automated processes;
Oversee the activities of a junior accountant / administrator in assisting the back-office activities of Belgium, France, Germany.

You will be reporting to the finance manager.

The requested qualifications for this job include:

Good working knowledge Excel (pivot tables etc.);
Exact Online / Blue10 / Isabel;
Experience of managing multiple software applications and how they communicate data between one another;
Language skills: Dutch and English are essential;
Qualified accountant (or with sufficient practical experience);
Ability to work in a smaller dynamic environment as well as in a corporate, international group.
