Senior Director, Clinical Operations Platform Excellence

Job Purpose
The Senior Director, Clinical Operations Platform Excellence works with the Global Clinical Operations Leadership Team, Global Process Owners, Tech Product Owners, and Business System Owners, to ensure ongoing improvement, embedding and innovation of Global Clinical Operations Vault systems and related technology platforms. Thereby ensuring high quality, consistent and effective use to support GSK’s regulatory obligations, GCP-compliant clinical trials, and enable business efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Leads the evaluation, selection, and oversight of new and existing Clinical Operations Vault technology solutions, and related technology platforms, to ensure quality, upper quartile delivery of clinical trials, and, that the value from such technology investments is realized.
- Leads clinical operations platform technology initiatives to anticipate and support evolving internal business user needs and external regulatory requirements impacting Global Clinical Operations.
- Provides strategic business and technology insights to transformation/acceleration projects across Global Clinical Operations (GCO)
- Collaborates with GCO LT, the digital teams in Digital Analytics & Performance (DAP), and Development stakeholders to continually explore disruptive technologies beyond the reach of Clinical Operations Vault, to drive delivery of transformation/acceleration projects across GCO.
- Represents GCO on relevant Program Steering Committee(s) for Clinical Operations Vault systems, and related technology platforms.
- Ensure risks related to new and existing technologies are reviewed and mitigation plans are implemented.
- Leads, manages, prioritizes, and resolves interdependencies across technology initiatives for GCO, enabling business to effectively drive, adopt and embed change to realize full benefit.
- Ensures a framework of services is in place for deployment of technology projects inclusive of service support, training, change management, and communication to maximize employee engagement and manage natural organizational resistance to support change initiatives.
- Accurately assesses the feasibility and benefits of change proposals and supports Technology Product Owners to plan and prioritize effectively and ensure maximum value delivery.
- Partners with the Veeva Center of Excellence, R&D Tech, and external vendors to optimize delivery and use of Veeva Clinical Operations Vault solutions within GCO.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors’ Degree in scientific, technology, or related discipline
- Director level experience in clinical operations and technology implementation.
- Experience in defining and implementing new processes and quality initiatives with an awareness of relevant controls and impacts.
- Knowledge and experience with the technology applications and systems that support the Veeva Clinical Operations Vault environment
- A broad understanding of scientific/pharmaceutical/ vaccines industry research and development
- Master’s Degree in scientific or technology discipline
- Has strong sense of urgency, able to effectively prioritize such that key issues or emerging high priority matters are handled in a timely and effective way.
- Service-oriented attitude and ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel in an interdisciplinary and matrix environment.
- Demonstrated ability to think flexibly in order to meet constantly shifting priorities and timelines.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to deliver high quality output, even under pressures.
