Senior Financial Advisor

bpost’s financial advisory team, which operates as a center of excellence on a broad range of corporate finance topics, is looking for a highly qualified finance individual who – as a core member of the team – will act as a trusted adviser to bpost’s CFO. In this capacity, you will have a material impact on decisions taken with regard to bpost’s future development.

Your mission

• You will advise bpost’s CFO on the financial implications of a variety of ad-hoc strategic projects, enabling fact-based financial and strategic decision-making, with a focus on value creation.
• You play a vital role in analyzing business profitability, investment performance (both organic & M&A) and bpost group’s capital allocation as well as advise bpost’s senior management in any actions to be taken in this respect.
• You act as a sparring partner to each of bpost’s 3 main divisions on various corporate finance topics (including business case reviews and challenging).
• You will be able to challenge the return on capital of bpost’s various business activities while assessing their performance and future potential.
• You partner with senior management to review investment opportunities, selecting most profitable projects proposed within bpost and advise on the financial relevance of acquisition or divestment opportunities.
• You autonomously analyze and advice on any (corporate) finance topic.

Your profile

You combine a proven track record of profound financial expertise with a convincing personality as well as solid communication- and interpersonal skills.

More particularly, the ideal candidate should successfully demonstrate following experience & competences:

• Excellent academic track record in Finance combined with CFA qualifications.
• Over 7 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, corporate finance and/or M&A.
• Excellent analytical skills enabling you to rigorously deep dive into details while maintaining a helicopter view and an aptitude to convey conclusions in a comprehensible way.
• Strong financial modelling skills.
• Project management skills and capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• You like to have impact: in this position you have a high exposure to senior management as well as other internal stakeholders.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders across the business is a key requirement.
• Ability to challenge with respect and convince with fact-based arguments.
• Team player, yet capable to work autonomously.
• Experience in preparing and giving presentations to senior audiences, including the executive committee and board.
• Used to work in a fast-moving environment with a clear sense of urgency and drive to meet deadlines.
• Excellent knowledge of English and very good knowledge of French and Dutch.
